Duties and Responsibilities
Background The ESCWA Technology Centre (ETC) operates the Digital Entrepreneurship Platform for the Arab Region (DEPAR), a flagship regional platform that connects entrepreneurs, MSMEs, innovators, support organizations and policymakers with opportunities, knowledge resources, programmes and partnerships across the Arab region. As ETC expands its entrepreneurship, SME development, digital transformation and inclusive innovation programmes, DEPAR has become a key tool for programme delivery, stakeholder engagement, visibility and knowledge sharing. In parallel, ETC is preparing for the Arab SMEs Summit (ASMES) 2026, which will serve as a regional platform for showcasing SMEs, entrepreneurship ecosystems, innovation initiatives and strategic partnerships. To strengthen DEPAR's impact and ensure effective preparation and implementation of ASMES 2026, ETC seeks an Individual Contractor to support platform content management, stakeholder outreach, community engagement, event logistics coordination and the integration of inclusive initiatives, particularly activities targeting persons with disabilities (PwDs) and other underserved groups. Tasks and Responsibilities 1. Manage and continuously update high-quality bilingual content on DEPAR, including opportunities, programmes, knowledge resources, success stories and multimedia content, while ensuring the visibility and accessibility of resources relevant to persons with disabilities (PwDs). 2. Support the organization, migration and quality assurance of DEPAR content and resources, including tagging and uploading materials to ensure they are accurate, searchable, user-oriented and inclusive of PwD-related resources. 3. Lead stakeholder outreach, onboarding and community engagement on DEPAR, including entrepreneurs, SMEs, support organizations, programme beneficiaries, entrepreneurs with disabilities and PwD-serving organizations. 4. Contribute to Phases 2 and 3 of the “Persons with Disability Dashboard & Community” project, supporting the timely completion of planned activities, deliverables and coordination requirements to ensure successful project closure. 5. Support the planning and delivery of ASMES 2026 and related DEPAR activities, including participant, partner and registration coordination, logistics, documentation and the meaningful participation and visibility of persons with disabilities. 6. Provide coordination, logistical and administrative support for ETC events, workshops and training programmes, ensuring appropriate accessibility arrangements and participation of persons with disabilities where relevant. 7. Collect stakeholder and user feedback and provide programme, research and operational support to improve DEPAR and contribute to ETC initiatives, including those promoting entrepreneurship, economic empowerment and digital inclusion of persons with disabilities. The Individual Contractor will work under the supervision of the Acting Director of the ESCWA Technology Centre.
