Terms of Use
Last updated 5 July 2026

Welcome to UNjobnet (unjobnet.org). These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of this website and any content, data, tools, and services we make available (together, the "Service"). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. About the Service

UNjobnet is an independent platform that aggregates, organises, curates, and presents career opportunities and related information for the international, UN, NGO, and development sectors, together with our own original guides, tools, salary and duty-station intelligence, and other resources. UNjobnet is not the employer for any listing, is not affiliated with the United Nations unless expressly stated, and does not process applications on an employer's behalf. Individual job details originate from employers and public sources; the selection, arrangement, enrichment, and presentation of that information are ours.

2. Permitted Use

We want the Service to be as open and useful as possible for genuine job seekers and researchers. You may access and use the Service for your own personal, non-commercial job search, career research, and professional development. You may share links to individual pages freely.

3. Prohibited Use

To protect our users and the integrity of the Service, you agree that you will not, and will not permit any third party or automated agent to:

  • use any robot, spider, scraper, crawler, or other automated means to access, monitor, copy, or extract data from the Service, except for public search engines operating within our published robots.txt directives and reasonable request rates;
  • harvest, scrape, bulk-download, index, cache, or otherwise collect job listings, organisation data, salary or duty-station data, articles, or any other content from the Service in bulk;
  • republish, redistribute, sell, license, or otherwise make available any content or compiled data from the Service, in whole or in part, whether or not modified;
  • use any content or data from the Service to build, train, populate, or improve a competing database, product, dataset, or machine-learning model;
  • circumvent, disable, or interfere with rate limits, access controls, security features, or any technical measures we use to protect the Service;
  • frame, mirror, or deep-link the Service in a way that misrepresents its origin or removes our attribution; or
  • interfere with, disrupt, or place an unreasonable load on the Service or its infrastructure.

Automated access and bulk use are subject to rate limiting and may be blocked. We reserve the right to restrict or terminate access for any user or system that violates these Terms, and to pursue any remedy available to us.

4. Intellectual Property & Database Rights

The Service, including its compilation, curation, organisation, structure, design, branding, original written content, tools, and derived datasets (such as our salary estimates and duty-station intelligence), is owned by UNjobnet or its licensors and is protected by copyright, database rights, trademark, and other laws. While facts and individual public job postings are not themselves owned by us, our compiled collection and the substantial investment in obtaining, verifying, enriching, and presenting it are protected as a database and compilation. The UNjobnet name and logo are our trademarks and may not be used without permission. All rights not expressly granted are reserved.

5. Accounts & User Content

If you create an account, you are responsible for keeping your credentials secure and for activity under your account. You retain ownership of content you submit (such as a profile or application), and you grant us a licence to use it as needed to operate the Service. You are responsible for the accuracy of what you submit.

6. Recruitment Fraud Warning

UNjobnet and the United Nations never charge any fee at any stage of recruitment — not for applications, processing, interviews, training, or visas. Always apply through the official employer link, and never send money, bank details, or personal identity documents to anyone claiming to offer a job. If a listing or message seems fraudulent, please report it to us.

7. Third-Party Sites & Employers

The Service links to external employer and third-party sites over which we have no control. Applications are submitted on the employer's own systems. We are not responsible for the content, accuracy, availability, hiring decisions, or practices of any third party, and your dealings with employers are solely between you and them.

8. No Warranty

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". While we work hard to keep listings accurate and current, we do not warrant that any content is complete, accurate, up to date, or that positions remain open. Your use of the Service is at your own risk.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, UNjobnet will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss, or any loss of opportunity, arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Service or any content on it.

10. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes take effect when posted on this page, and your continued use of the Service means you accept the updated Terms. Please check back periodically.

11. Contact

Questions about these Terms, or requests to license or reuse our content or data, can be sent to us via the feedback form or our contact channels.
