Job Description

The African Union Development Agency invites applicants who are citizens of African Union Member States for the post of Finance Assistant - Accounts Payable.

Under the supervision of the Senior Accounts Officer, the Finance Assistant - Accounts Payable provides financial and accounting support in the management of accounts payable by ensuring the timely verification, reconciliation, payments and clearance of accounts payable in accordance with AU Financial Rules, staff rules and regulations, donor requirements and applicable accounting standards.

Education and Experience:

A College certificate and Diploma in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or related field. A Minimum of five (5) years' progressively responsible experience in finance, treasury, accounting or accounts payable, within the public sector, multilateral institutions, international, non-governmental, or similar organisations nationally, regionally, and/or internationally.

  1. Experience working with an ERP system.
  2. Experience in an accounting support role.
  3. Good experience in accounting and financial processes.

Remuneration:

Indicative basic salary of US$19,701.71 per annum plus other entitlements e.g., Post Adjustment (46% of basic salary), Housing allowance ($16,813.44 per annum), gratuity (15% of gross salary) in conformity with the rules and procedures applicable to internationally recruited staff of the African Union.
