Créée en 1979, Action contre la Faim est une organisation non gouvernementale internationale qui lutte contre la faim dans le monde. Sa charte des principes humanitaires - indépendance, neutralité, non-discrimination, accès libre et direct aux victimes, professionnalisme, transparence - fonde son identité depuis 45 ans. Sa mission est de sauver des vies en éliminant la faim par la prévention, la détection et le traitement de la sous-nutrition, en particulier pendant et après les situations d'urgence liées aux conflits et aux catastrophes naturelles. Mission :
You will be responsible for implementing a sound and relevant delegation system (with appropriate control mechanisms), which will allow you to be accountable for all the following responsibilities :
Lead the preparation, updating, implementation of the country strategy appropriate for the country and regional context and in line with the ACF vision and mission
Oversee country's programming to ensure the effective and efficient design, implementation and evaluation of ACF's programs and projects
Develop and enhance relationships between the country office and donors' representatives, civil society, private sector, government agencies and other organizations, acknowledging diversity as an asset of the humanitarian community, so that ACF can maximize its impact on malnutrition and its prevention
Guarantee security management of staff, operations, assets and directs country-specific response to security threats and incidents, up to and including management of evacuation
Oversee the management and development of country office human resources and create a shared vision, among all staff, of ACF's values and program's aims and their role in achieving these. You will manage a team of around 260 staff, including 7 direct reportees.
Oversee and direct the appropriate mobilization, use and management of financial and logistic resources in the country office in line with ACF policies and donor requirements
Be the key actor between the field and HQ, by contributing to maintain good working relationships with HQ, complying with information demands and using HQ's expertise to optimize the country's strategy implementation
Lead for ACF's accountability, reputation and fiscal responsibility in the country
Ensure, with the support of your team, linkage with national entities and partners and the implementation of ACF strategy.
Field visits
The Country Director would be based in Chiang Mai pending Visa approval.
Profile :
You have a postgraduate (master) degree or Bachelor degree with 10 years relevant professional experience
You have at least 8 years of humanitarian and development experience and at least 5 years of senior management or leadership experience, including team leadership;
You have a previous humanitarian and development experience working in Asia (South Asia or South East Asia) essential;
You have excellent negotiation and advocacy skills, and are politically astute;
You have an excellent adaptation and culturally sensitivity skills; and an excellent organizational and interpersonal skills;
You have a solid experience of managing security, understanding of financial and logitics / procurement management;
You have a significant experience with external representation and promotion of programs with stakeholders and donors;
You are able to demonstrate leadership in representation
You are fluent spoken and written English skills
A great sense of humour is required!
Conditions d'emploi:
Fixed term contract under French legislation: 18 months starting from 9 november 2026
Monthly gross salary from 3572 to 4128euros upon experience, including 13th month
Reimbursement of the pension insurance for non-French citizens: 16% of the gross monthly salary
Annual salary increase: 6% increase after and each 12 months of continuous contract
Monthly per diem and living allowance: 504euros net, field paid
Monthly country allowance: 450euros
Child allowance: 1500euros per year per child present in the country of origin (maximum 6000euros/year)
Coverage of transportation costs and accommodation (Serviced appartment in Chiang Mai and Hotel / serviced appartment in Yangon)
Medical coverage: ACF covers 100% of the health and repatriation insurance agreement fees, for your medical expenses (as well as your dependents if you have a family post), and up to 1 month after the end of your contract.
Salary sustainment measures (sickness, paternity, maternity)
Leaves and RnR: 25 days of paid leaves per year, 20 RnR per year, airfare reimbursement with a ceiling to get to the chosen break destination, and 215 euros for each RnR period
