Application Developer

The International Institute of Tropical Agriculture seeks suitable Nigeria nationals for the position below at the Institute’s Headquarters in Ibadan.

Position:   Application Developer

Contract:   6-month renewable contract                                   

Location: Ibadan

Closing Date: 15 October 2026

DUTIES

• Design, develop, and implement new features and enhancements for the RFU application using C# and .NET Framework.
• Thoroughly test new features and enhancements to ensure quality and functionality before deployment.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve application issues to ensure system stability and performance.
• Develop and maintain relevant technical and user documentation for the application.
• Train and support users to ensure effective and optimal use of the application.
• Serve as the first point of contact for RFU users and provide timely resolution of application-related issues.
• Apply software development, security, coding, and version control best practices.
• Work with users and teams to gather requirements and support application integration with relevant systems.
• Perform any other duties assigned by the Supervisor.

Requirements

QUALIFICATION

BSc/HND/B.Tech in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or related discipline with a minimum of two (2) years’ of relevant experience in a well-structured organization.

COMPETENCIES

The ideal candidate must have:

• Strong proficiency in C#, .NET Framework, application development, maintenance, and system integration.
• Practical experience in web application development, database design, management, and integration.
• Knowledge of user interface and user experience design principles.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and with minimal supervision.
• Good interpersonal and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with users and technical teams.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
