Job Description

Job Summary:

The RTO, Community Engagement, provides technical and programmatic oversight for the implementation of community and facility-based TB prevention, screening, diagnosis, treatment, linkages and continuity of care interventions for adults, children and adolescents. The role provides implementation oversight and technical assistance at regional level and works with Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) and Community Health Workers (CHWs), Regional and District TB and Leprosy Coordinators, and other stakeholders to strengthen the quality, effectiveness and timely delivery of TB services.

Accountabilities:

Technical Requirements:

  • Provides technical support for implementation of evidence-based and innovative strategies to strengthen TB prevention, case finding, contact tracing/investigation, diagnosis, treatment, linkage and continuity of care.
  • Supports the development, adaptation, field- testing and dissemination of technical approaches, tools, materials and SOPs to strengthen community-based TB interventions.
  • Collaborates with Regional Tuberculosis and Leprosy Coordinator (RTLC), District Tuberculosis and Leprosy Coordinator (DTLC), CSO and local government officials to ensure quality implementation of TB interventions according to national guidelines.
  • Works with the EpiC RTO, Community Engagement, (HIB) officer to support implementation of TB/HIV collaborative activities.
  • Supports implementation of community engagement best practices, and ensures activities are implemented in accordance with national guidelines and project objectives.
  • Assesses capacity gaps among CHWs and CSOs and provides tailored technical assistance, mentorship and capacity strengthening to improve planning and implementation of TB activities.
  • Works with CSOs and other stakeholders to review performance data, identify service delivery gaps and strengthen referral and linkage of people with presumptive TB to diagnostic, treatment and other appropriate services.
  • Conducts supportive supervision and mentorship to CSO and CHWs to improve quality of services.
  • Delivery presentations at regional and district meetings and conferences.

Project Design Implementation:

  • Conducts analyses of treatment continuation data to identify improvement opportunities and recommend appropriate technical strategies to enhance treatment continuation.

  • Bachelor’s degree in social sciences, public health, social work, international development, communication, Economic development, Education, the Environment, Gender, Health, Nutrition, Research, Technology and Youth or Related Field.

Experience: ** **

  • Requires 4+ years of progressive responsible experience in community-based health programming including technical leadership coordination and implementation of HIV prevention, care and treatment interventions or similar projects.

  • Ability and willingness to travel extensively in -country to support technical activities.

The expected hiring salary range for this role is TZS 52,000,000 - 65,000,000 for annual basic salary. When determining an offer amount, FHI 360 factors in multiple considerations, including but not limited to: relevant years of experience and education possessed by the applicant, internal equity, market pay, and budget. For internal candidates, salary placement will also follow FHI 360’s current promotional increase guidelines.
