Job Description

ECHA/TRN/ 2027/019 – Procurement team - Finance Unit (R1)

The Procurement Team in the Finance Unit of ECHA R1 provides support for the outsourcing of the Agency from needs assessment, preparation of procurement documentation, tender evaluation and contract award to contract management with external suppliers. We also give advice on legal issues, templates, training, etc. Our team guarantees harmonisation and standardisation of the procurement system across directorates, ensuring that proper guidance, reporting and monitoring is provided.

Assignment

The trainee will be expected to carry out under supervision the following tasks:

  • Assist the procurement team in its daily activities, including participating in internal and/or external meetings
  • Support in preparing procurement and contractual documents in general
  • Keep the templates up-to-date (e.g. when a new version is released on BUDGweb, translate those changes in ECHA’s templates)
  • Research and analyse legal sources, such as EU regulations, legislations, legal articles, treaties;
  • Report on new case-law of EU courts and keep the relevant database updated
  • Support in keeping the team databases up-to-date
  • Provide administrative support (e.g. archiving, data entry and processing)
  • Contribute to internal reporting tasks.
  • Interact with internal stakeholders on procurement//contract management questions

Profile

  • Completed university degree in a field, relevant to the tasks (e.g. law, public or business administration, etc.)
  • Experience in purchasing in public sector or private companies is an asset.
  • Analytical capabilities and attention to detail;
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Proficiency in MS Office (specifically Excel);
  • Aptitude for team work as well as cooperative and service-oriented attitude;
  • Proficiency in spoken and written English is required, as English is the Agency's working language.
