Our mission is to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of the social sector via automation and data integration solutions.

How it began

In early 2014, Vera Solutions started a grant-funded research and development unit in the hopes of leveraging our years of experience in the technology for international development sector. Having completed more than 185 projects with leading international development groups, and having first-hand experience implementing dozens of technologies, we had found that the single most common technical challenge—across organizations and projects of all sizes and sectors—is data integration: getting different systems to speak to one another. We built OpenFn to tackle that challenge, head on.

After using OpenFn as an internal product at Vera to deliver consulting projects to our clients more efficiently, we recognized the broader need for the platform and rebuilt it from scratch to handle connections to and from any system with and API. We spun OpenFn out of Vera Solutions as a standalone organization in 2015.
