Under the overall supervision of the National Officer (Protection) and the direct supervision of the Senior Project Associate – Protection, and in close collaboration with the LMI Unit, the Senior Project Associate will be responsible and accountable for supporting the coordination and implementation of labour mobility activities, including case management processes, referrals in pilot provinces. The position may require frequent travel and field presence to support programme implementation.
1.Assist in the planning, coordination, implementation and monitoring of project activities.
2. Conduct individual counselling sessions with applicants participating in the voluntary labour mobility pilot, applying approved counselling methodology, protection principles, and voluntariness standards to safeguard applicant’s informed and voluntary decision-making.
3. Maintain up-to-date case records and case management data with accurate documentation, confidentiality and compliant with data protection standards preserving the integrity and security of protection case files.
4. Facilitate protection-sensitive relocation arrangements including referrals, coordination with service providers and pre- or post-relocation follow-up with beneficiaries to secure continuity of care and protection outcomes for relocated individuals.
5. Liaise with diverse organisational units and external parties on administrative coordination matters initiating requests, obtaining necessary clearances and following up on pending actions, to support uninterrupted project implementation.
6. Identify and flag case-level protection, safeguarding, or operational risks to the supervisor, contributing to risk assessment and mitigation processes for the pilot phase.
7. Draft status reports, identify shortfalls, bring them to the attention of the supervisor and suggest corrective measures to address delivery gaps.
8. Draft correspondence on project issues, prepare and update reports, briefing notes, graphics, statistical tables, and other forms of documentation.
9. Organise meetings, workshops and training sessions, prepare training materials and participate in the delivering of capacity building workshops.
10. Respond to complex information requests and inquiries. Set up and maintain files/records.
11. Participate in meetings, technical briefings and deliver on-the-job capacity-building activities, including trainings provided to UN Volunteers (UNVs) and field staff involved in counselling and case management to strengthen frontline protection capacity.
12. Provide inputs for the development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and concept papers, counselling tools, guidance materials and other technical documents.
13. Provides guidance/training and assist in coordinating and monitoring work of other staff in the unit.
14. Perform such other relevant duties as assigned.
Education
• Bachelor’s degree in Political or Social Sciences, International Relations, Social Services, Psychology, Migration Studies, Law or a related field from an accredited academic institution with four years of relevant professional experience; or
• High School diploma with six years of relevant experience.
Experience
• Experience in liaising with governmental authorities, national/international institutions, United Nations agencies and non-governmental organisations;
• Experience in case management, counselling, referrals and service mapping;
• Experience in conducting beneficiary assessments, developing individual action plans and providing case-level support is an asset;
• Experience in working with migrants, refugees, internally displaced persons, victims of trafficking and other vulnerable groups;
• Experience in labour mobility, socio-economic integration and employability programme;
• Willingness and ability to undertake frequent field travel; and,
• Previous experience in Southeast Türkiye is an advantage. The position will require travels to cities in Southeast Turkiye as well as other cities in Turkiye. The candidate should be willing to travel for duty.
