We are seeking a dynamic professional with proven expertise in coordinating projects and initiatives contributing to the sustainable development of the Amazon region, and with hands-on experience working within or alongside multilateral development banks.
In this role, you will contribute to the IDB Group’s Amazonia Forever Program by accelerating implementation, strengthening project impact, sharing evidence-based innovations, and leveraging expertise to support sectoral and policy development and enhance coordination. As Amazonia Sector Senior Associate, you will report to the Lead Sector Specialist within the Amazonia Coordination Unit (ACU), working in close coordination with other sectors and country teams within the IDB Group.
The Amazonia Coordination Unit (ACU) is small and dynamic team, with some division of responsibilities but also an expectation for strong teamwork, proactivity, flexibility, and collaborative spirit. The team works under the Vice-presidency of Countries and Regional Integration (VPC) at IDB, as well as with specialists and management throughout the IDB Group and the country offices in the Amazon region.
Working in coordination with the Lead Sector Specialist of the Amazonia Coordination Unit, you will:
• Citizenship: You are a citizen of one of our 48-member countries.
• Consanguinity: You have no family members (up to the fourth degree of consanguinity and second degree of affinity, including spouse) working at the IDB, IDB Invest, or IDB Lab.
International staff contract, 36 months initially, renewable upon mutual agreement.
