The GGGI internship program provides a unique learning opportunity for students and recent graduates from diverse academic backgrounds. The program is designed for talented and motivated individuals skilled in areas relevant to GGGI’s operations. The program allows selected candidates to gain insight into the work of GGGI and provides assistance and training in various professional fields in a multicultural environment. CURRENT OPPORTUNITY

We are looking for a talented and self-driven individual to work with us in the Financial Strategic Cooperation Unit, Department of Development Finance. The incumbent will be able to gain experience in the following areas: 1) the inner workings of an international organization; 2) the coordination with internal and external stakeholders and partners; 3) the management of documentation and official correspondence; and 4) event/conference organization.

The Finance Strategy and Cooperation Unit (FSCU) is part of the Department of Development Finance (DDF), which oversees the organization's strategic climate and development finance operations. The DDF supports the organization by delivering effective fund management and fostering high-value financial partnerships. Within this framework, the FSCU provides targeted technical assistance to originate and structure high-quality green projects, while building strategic co-financing frameworks with major multilateral banks and global climate funds. To solidify these alliances, the Unit also leads the convening of high-level global conferences and forums that bring together key financial partners and stakeholders. The FSCU ensures the organization is effectively supported in bridging the gap between member countries' green growth initiatives and the global capital needed to scale them.

The assignment will include the following but not limited to:

• Event Coordination and Logistical Support:
• Assist in the preparation and coordination of development finance related sessions during Global Green Growth Week (GGGW) 2026, as well as the unit's engagements and side events at UNFCCC COP31.
• Proactively assist with handling comprehensive day-to-day logistics and administrative arrangements to ensure smooth on-site execution and seamless coordination with external partners and speakers.

• Preparation of Project Summaries and Reporting Documents:
• Assist in extracting key information from project documents to draft concise summaries for official tracking tables and departmental reports.
• Provide inputs to various results-tracking documents, ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and alignment with the organization’s reporting standards.

• Data Reorganization and Information Management:
• Assist in updating and maintaining databases and tracking sheets related to project results, financial commitments, and official documents.
• Help reorganize, consolidate, and track key project files, ensuring that complex information is systematically structured and easily accessible for the team.

• Support Contract Administration and Vendor Onboarding:
• Support the management and tracking of contracts within the Finance Strategy and Cooperation Unit (FSCU).
• Proactively engage with potential vendors and service providers to gather required documentation and information.
• Take ownership of the vendor registration process, directly assisting and guiding partners through GGGI's internal portal to ensure a smooth, accurate, and timely onboarding experience.

• General support:
• Anticipate team needs by independently preparing PowerPoint presentations (PPTs) and other visual materials or briefings as required.
• Support internal meetings and events, including proactive schedule coordination, room bookings, and logistical setup.
• Perform other duties as directed by the Unit Head of FSCU, Senior Officer of FSCU, and Senior Program Assistant of FSCU, demonstrating a willingness to find and execute work within the internship mandate.

ELIGIBILITY

Applicants to the GGGI internship program must at the time of application meet the following requirements:

• Be enrolled in a Bachelor’s (final year), Master’s or PhD program prior to internship assignment, or a recent graduate within the last 12 months.
• Be engaged or recently engaged in academic study in a field directly related to the Governance Unit’s work.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Possess an excellent command of English and fluency in Korean.
• Demonstrated proactive mindset, with the ability to take initiative, anticipate team needs, and independently identify tasks without requiring constant supervision.
• Excellent command of Microsoft Office, Excel and design tools for presentations and visual material.
• Experience in organizing meetings and events involving government officials and representatives of international organizations.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a multicultural environment.

SELECTION PROCESS

• Applications submitted after the deadline will not be considered.
• GGGI evaluates applications based on: eligibility requirements, relevance of academic study and work experience (if any); and the level of interest and motivation to contribute to development work.
• Due to high volume of applications, only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

• Duration: The internship program is for at least three months and up to six months. Once selected, interns must begin their internship either prior to or within 12 months of graduation.
• Stipend: GGGI interns receive a monthly stipend of USD 500 per month (unless agreed to be funded by sponsoring institutions). All costs related to travel, insurance, accommodation, and living expenses must be borne by either the interns themselves or sponsoring institutions.
• Visa: GGGI will provide a supporting letter for visa. Interns will be responsible for obtaining and financing the necessary visas.
• Travel: Intern will arrange and finance their travel to the internship location.
• Medical Insurance: Interns must present proof of valid medical insurance to GGGI upon returning the signed internship contract.
• Confidentiality: Interns must keep confidential any and all unpublished information obtained during the course of the internship and may not publish any documents based on such information.
• Academic Credit: Interns may get academic credit from their institution of higher education for the internship. Interns need to check with their university to confirm their academic credit policy for internships.
• Working Hours: interns are expected to work during normal working hours. Leave should be pre-approved by the Intern Manager, and the latter should inform the Office of HR accordingly.
• Learning Outcomes: before completion of the internship, Intern Managers are expected to review the learning outcomes with the intern.
• Certificate: provided upon successful completion of the internship, upon request.
