Wetlands International

Wetlands International is a global not-for-profit organization dedicated to the conservation and restoration of wetlands. Its work traces back to the International Wildfowl Inquiry of 1937; the present organization took its name and established its headquarters in the Netherlands in 1996, and now operates through offices and associate members across Africa, Asia, Europe and the Americas.

It works on water security, coastal resilience, peatlands and carbon, and the health of the rivers, deltas and coasts that people and waterbirds depend on, in partnership with governments, companies, investors and civil society.

Wetlands International is a small, technical organization: its roles concentrate on wetland ecology and hydrology, nature-based solutions, climate adaptation, and the programme development and partnership work that turns that science into landscape-scale projects. Positions are based at the Ede headquarters and at its regional offices.
