How pay and appointments work at ADB.
ADB publishes its salary structure as bands rather than steps: each grade has a minimum, a midpoint and a maximum, and where a hire lands within the band depends on experience. The international staff structure is one scale for the whole world, so it does not vary by duty station. Local staff are paid on a scale set for their office — headquarters in Manila is shown here; each field office publishes its own.

ADB also publishes a separate local salary structure for each field office, in that country's own currency. Those are not reproduced here yet, so a local post outside headquarters shows no figure rather than the Manila one.
A published figure at ADB is neither take-home nor total package. These are the terms that sit around it.
Terms are the employer's own and can change; the governing staff regulations prevail over anything summarised here. Amounts quoted are the figures in the published document at the time of writing and are reviewed periodically.
