Job Description

Mission and objectives

The World Health Organization (WHO) in Mongolia works as the official WHO country office, supporting the Government of Mongolia in improving public health, strengthening the health system, and helping the population achieve better health outcomes. Its mission is aligned with WHO's global vision of attaining the highest possible level of health for all people.

Context

World AMR Awareness Week (WAAW), observed annually from 18 to 24 November, is a global campaign to increase awareness and understanding of antimicrobial resistance (AMR) and encourage practical action to preserve the effectiveness of antimicrobials. In Mongolia, recent WAAW activities have combined national advocacy, engagement of health institutions and future health professionals, and community outreach. Under the 2026 theme, “One Health, One Action: Prevent AMR now”, the WHO Country Office in Mongolia, together with relevant national and One Health partners, plans to build on the achievements of WAAW 2025 and the Western Pacific Region’s “Stewards for the Future” campaign. The 2026 campaign will emphasize translating AMR commitments and pledges into practical action in daily work and life. The campaign is expected to include a joint WAAW/National Action Plan advocacy moment, a focused media and visibility package, Stewards for the Future content, rapid circulation of audience-specific key messages, and selected One Health field/community engagement. To support timely, high-quality delivery, WHO Mongolia seeks a paid volunteer with relevant communications and multimedia production skills. The volunteer will ensure timely, coordinated, and high-quality technical support on communications, multimedia production, design and operational support for the development and delivery of the WAAW 2026 media and visibility package, in close coordination with the WHO Mongolia AMR and Communications teams.

Support development and implementation of a practical production plan, content calendar and timeline for the WAAW 2026 communications and media package, ensuring alignment with approved campaign key messages and the “Stewards for the Future” campaign. 2. Support development and production of one Stewards for the Future interview video featuring approximately 4–5 selected stewards from different backgrounds/sectors, including interview planning; preparation of a filming brief and interview questions; provision of guidance to the contracted professional video production supplier on filming approach, key messages and visual style; and review and coordination of filming, editing, subtitles/on-screen text and agreed social-media adaptations. 3. Support development of one high-level WAAW media feature involving the WHO Representative and/or selected senior national or partner representatives. Depending on the agreed communications plan, this may take the form of a written Q&A, interview, op-ed-supported visual feature, television segment or podcast, including associated photography and visual assets. 4. Design and adapt campaign visual materials, including e-banners and screen/backdrop visuals for the WAAW 2026 and third National Action Plan on AMR launch, Stewards for the Future pledge materials with QR code, and rapid key-message cards for healthcare workers, herders/animal-health audiences and the wider community. 5. Adapt approved communication products into formats required for WHO, Ministry of Health and partner social-media channels, websites, hospital screens, electronic displays and media publication, and adapt available WHO HQ/WPRO WAAW materials where appropriate. 6. Provide communications and multimedia support for the WAAW 2026/NAP launch and campaign implementation, including coordination with external media/production vendors and, where approved, domestic travel for interviews, filming or photography with herders or other community stakeholders. 7. Revise and finalize all communication products following WHO technical, communications and management review and clearance; provide final dissemination-ready files together with editable/source files, photographs and raw footage in an organized handover package. 8.
