JOB TITLE: National Multimedia Producer

TYPE OF CONTRACT: National Consultant (SSA/WAE)

DIVISION: Advocacy and Reporting Unit

DUTY STATION (City, Country): Phnom Penh, Cambodia

DURATION: Up to 48 days over 3 months period, as required

REPORTING: Advocacy and Reporting Officer


BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE OF ASSIGNMENT:

World Food Programme Cambodia’s Advocacy and Reporting Unit regularly requires high-quality audiovisual content to document field activities, capture human-interest stories, and support advocacy, reporting, and donor visibility across its programme. To ensure professional coverage, WFP Cambodia is seeking to engage qualified incumbent across three service categories:

  • Videography,
  • Combined (photography and videography).

Assignments may include field documentation, interviews, short-form digital content, donor visibility products and documentary-style videos.

One priority assignment will be the production of a short documentary-style video (5 minutes) on fortified rice in Cambodia, showcasing the production process while incorporating WFP evidence and programme experience to communicate the benefits and relevance of rice fortification to a non-technical audience.

The incumbent will report to the Advocacy and Reporting Officer and work closely with relevant WFP programme teams to plan, film and edit compelling, high-quality audiovisual products for WFP Cambodia over a 3-month-period.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The incumbent will be responsible for the following:

  • Participate in a pre-assignment briefing with WFP teams to understand the assignment scope, key messages, target audience, storyboard, and schedule.
  • Travel to and work at assigned locations to capture content; ensuring ethical, consent-based practices when photographing/filming beneficiaries and communities.
  • Deliver organized, labelled raw files and incorporate WFP feedback into final products within agreed timelines.
  • Any other assignments as required.

Photography:

  • Capture high-resolution photography, documenting activities, processes, and people; suitable for effective storytelling.
  • Deliver a curated, captioned selection of edited photographs in formats specified by WFP.

Videography:

  • Develop a storyboard, film footage and interviews, and edit into a polished video product, with subtitles, branding, and graphics as needed.
  • Produce short-form videos suitable for WFP’s social media channels.

DELIVERABLES:

  • Organized raw footage;
  • A curated set of edited, captioned high-resolution photographs;
  • Professionally produced videos with KH subtitles, plus short-form cut-downs for social media.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

Education:


  • Diploma or degree in Photography, Film Production, Media Studies, Communications, Journalism, or a related field; or equivalent professional experience and professional portfolio in lieu of formal qualifications.



Experience:

  • Minimum 7 years of professional experience in photography and/ or videography;
  • Proven experience in producing content for development, humanitarian, or non-profit organizations (experience working with UN agencies is an additional advantage), including a demonstrated portfolio of documentary-style or advocacy work.

Languages:

  • Fluency (level C) in English language. Khmer language is an asset.
