Goodness and Mercy Missions (GMM) is a Cameroon-based non-profit organization founded in 2007 by Teh Francis Yai. GMM holds Special Consultative Status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council (UN ECOSOC) and works to improve the lives of vulnerable communities, particularly in the North West Region of Cameroon. The organization focuses on reducing rural poverty, empowering women through entrepreneurship and vocational skills development, improving access to quality education for disadvantaged children, and strengthening community resilience through sustainable development initiatives. The ongoing socio-political crisis in Cameroon has disproportionately affected women and children, leaving many families displaced, unemployed, and unable to access quality education and economic opportunities. GMM has implemented several successful community-based interventions, including vocational training for women, child sponsorship and scholarship programs, livelihood support, peacebuilding initiatives, and community development projects. However, the growing demand for these services has significantly exceeded the organization's available financial resources. To address this challenge, GMM seeks the support of an Online Volunteer with expertise in grant development and fundraising. The volunteer will contribute to strengthening the organization's resource mobilization capacity by identifying suitable funding opportunities, preparing high-quality grant proposals, developing persuasive concept notes, and completing donor application requirements. The volunteer will work closely with GMM's leadership team over a 12-week period to ensure that funding proposals accurately reflect community priorities, donor expectations, and measurable development outcomes. The successful completion of this assignment will enhance GMM's ability to secure sustainable funding for programs that empower women economically, expand educational opportunities for vulnerable children, and improve the overall well-being of marginalized rural communities in Cameroon. Ultimately, the volunteer's contribution will help increase the long-term impact and sustainability of GMM's mission while advancing the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 1 (No Poverty), SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 5 (Gender Equality), SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).

Task Description

Identify potential funding sources, including international foundations, corporate donors, and bilateral grants. Write a compelling proposal content tailored to women's economic empowerment and child education programs. Fill out grant application forms accurately according to specific donor guidelines. Draft clear concept notes outlining new project frameworks, budgets, and measurable outcomes. Collaborate online with the GMM leadership team to align proposals with community needs.
