Fabrication Lab Instructor - Local Consultant - Siblin Training Center

Objectives  Train students on software-based training.  Provide introductory exposure to applications and technologies.  Develop and implement curriculum tailored to various programs and student skill levels.  Prepare students with practical, industry-standard tools, methodologies, and workflows.

The Consultant, under the overall management of the Education Program, and the supervision of the Project Manager, will directly support and report to the LAB Tech Expert. The Consultant will be responsible for activities described below:  Preparing training curricula, materials, and modules in coordination with the LAB Tech Expert.  Design and implement advanced workshops in robotics, introducing beneficiaries to coding, programming logic, and microcontroller applications (Arduino and similar platforms).  Plan and deliver comprehensive training sessions that combine 2D and 3D design software (such as AutoCAD, Illustrator, Fusion 360, SolidWorks, Rhino, Photoshop) with practical handson workshops on digital fabrication machines (CNC, laser cutter, vinyl cutter, 3D printers, and DTF & UV printers).  Provide hands-on training in assembling robotics kits, integrating sensors, actuators, and controllers to develop functional prototypes and innovative projects. This includes practical skills such as soldering electronic components, wiring, and circuit assembly, as well as the use of power supplies and oscilloscopes for testing, calibration, and troubleshooting to ensure system reliability and performance.  Supporting beneficiaries in applying theoretical knowledge into practical skills by guiding them through machine operations.  Conducting troubleshooting and providing immediate technical support for machines during training sessions.  Monitoring beneficiaries’ progress, documenting learning outcomes, and providing regular reports on training implementation.  Preparing and submitting attendance sheets and end-of-training progress reports.  Coordinating closely with the LAB Tech Expert to align on training schedules, content, and participant support.  Working on youth-led projects and initiatives to showcase the outcomes of workshops.  Providing follow-up and support to beneficiaries after training sessions when requested.  Ensuring adherence to Fab Lab rules, safety protocols, and UNRWA regulations at all times.  Any other duty as deemed necessary.

Bachelor's degree in the fields of Engineering or related technical field is required.Certifications in digital fabrication, robotics, or technical training are considered an asset. 3 years of experience in training, of which, Teaching experience on 2D and 3D design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Illustrator, SolidWorks, Rhino, Fusion 360, and Photoshop). Using slicer software such as ArtCAM, Inkscape, RIIN, etc. Technical expertise in operating and maintaining digital fabrication machines (CNC, 3D printer, vinyl cutter, laser cutter, and Plotter Printers). Experience in robotics, including coding and programming, electronics assembly, and robotics kit integration. At least 1 year of training or mentoring youth and adolescents (ages 18–30). Previous experience in academic program coordination or related administrative roles is an asset. Experience working in humanitarian or community-based projects is an asset is an asset.
