The Position: Graphic Designer and Digital Communication Consultant

The Graphic Designer and digital communication consultant will report directly to the Regional Communications Advisor and work in technical collaboration with the Regional Media Specialist and
Communications Team.

Job Purpose:

The Graphic Designer and Digital Communication Consultant supports the Regional Communications Unit and WCARO Directorate in designing, producing, and harmonizing high-quality visual communication materials, regional reports, and event branding assets. He will work closely with the Communications and Programme
teams to ensure strict compliance with UNFPA visual identity and branding standards.

You would be responsible for:

1. Visual Design and Layout of Regional Publications:
   1. Design, layout, and format thematic reports and the 2026 annual report, policy briefs, advocacy documents, monographs, and brochures for WCARO.
   2. Transform complex demographic, health, and gender data into clear, engaging, and high-impact infographics and visual charts.
2. Digital Communication and Social Media Assets:
   1. Create web banners, digital flyers, and multimedia graphics tailored for social media platforms (LinkedIn, Facebook, X, YouTube, Instagram).
   2. Produce dynamic animated GIFs (such as event countdowns) in both French and English.
   3. Design digital quote cards and promotional visual assets for international commemorative days and flagship campaigns.

3. Event Branding and Exhibition Materials:
   1. Develop complete visual identities for regional conferences, policy dialogues, and high-level events (logos, color palettes, typography, and visual guidelines).
   2. Design event materials including roll-up banners, stage backdrops, participant badges, agendas, tote bags, notebooks, pens, and name plates in bilingual formats.
4. Branding Compliance, Quality Assurance and Knowledge Management:
   1. Ensure full compliance of all graphic products with corporate UNFPA visual branding standards and guidelines.
   2. Maintain, organize, and archive source files (AI, INDD, PSD, high-res PDF) in the regional communication repository.
   3. Provide technical support and design guidance to WCARO Country Offices as required.
5. Others:
   1. Act as technical support for digital multimedia initiatives within the Regional Communications Unit.
   2. Carry out any other related graphic design duties as assigned by the supervisor and WCARO leadership.
   3. Contribute to UI/UX design of digital platforms and web applications, ensuring user-friendly interfaces and consistent visual experiences.

Qualifications and Experience: 

Education:  

Completed secondary level education required (Baccalauréat). University degree or Master's degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, or Digital Marketing is highly desirable.

Knowledge and Experience: 

• Minimum Five (5) years of relevant professional experience in graphic design, UI/UX design, visual communication
• Expert proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere Pro, After Effects) and Canva Pro.
• Proven experience in designing visual assets
• Proven track record of professional performance

Languages: 

• Fluency in spoken and written French is required; working knowledge of English is desirable.

Place where services are to be delivered: UNFPA WCARO premises, Dakar, Senegal (Primarily On-site / Hybrid)

Inputs / services to be provided by UNFPA or implementing partner (e.g. support services, office space, equipment), if applicable: UNFPA will provide the consultant with a computer/laptop, access to corporate design tools/licenses, internet connectivity and dedicated office space within UNFPA WCARO premises.

Other relevant information or special conditions, if any: Travel may be required during events organized outside Dakar (whenever Communication Support will be required)
