Organizational Context and Scope

Under the overall supervision of the Chief of Mission, and the direct supervision of the Head of Unit for Labour Mobility and Social Inclusion (LMI), the incumbents will support coordination of projects implemented by the IOM Belgium and Luxembourg office. 

This vacancy notice is intended to fill two Pillar lead positions. While the selected candidates will be assigned to different thematic pillars, both positions are at the same grade level (G5) and share a similar coordination function. Each Pillar lead oversees a portfolio of related projects grouped within a thematic "pillar" and provides day-to-day coordination of project implementation, supported by a dedicated pillar team. One position will lead the Social Integration Pillar, which focuses on supporting the inclusion, participation, and well-being of migrants and host communities through projects that promote social cohesion, access to services and integration. The second position will lead the Migration and Development Pillar, which focuses on maximizing the positive impact of migration on sustainable development, including through diaspora engagement, remittances, skills exchanges, and initiatives that benefit migrants, communities of origin, and communities of destination. Despite these thematic differences, both roles entail comparable responsibilities in project coordination, team support, stakeholder engagement, and results delivery.

I. Assist with the implementation of the project.

1.Assist in coordinating and following up on project activities, including work plans, deliverables, steering committees, events and focus group discussions.

2. Liaise with partners and stakeholders and assist with project monitoring.

3. Coordinate with internal IOM units (finance, legal, etc.) on budgets, contracts, procurement, privacy and administration.

4. Assist in drafting narrative and financial reports for the donor.

5. Perform other related duties as required.

II. Assist with policy support and outreach

6. Assist in identifying partnerships with civil society, diaspora associations, government institutions, research institutes, universities and the private sector.

7. Draft conference presentations and speeches related to Labour Migration and Inclusion.

8. Participate in and follow up on meetings and conferences.

9. Provide administrative assistance in the preparation of new projects and initiatives, including concept notes, project proposals, donor mapping and funding opportunities.

10. Perform other related duties as required.

Required Qualifications and Experience

Education

• Bachelor's degree (or higher) in political science, social science, migration studies or a related field from an accredited academic institution with 3 years of relevant professional experience; OR
• Completed secondary education with 5 years of relevant professional experience.

Accredited Universities are those listed in the UNESCO World Higher Education Database.

Experience

• Proven experience in project management.
• Proven experience with project monitoring and data analysis tools.
• Knowledge of migration-related fields is an advantage.

Skills

• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Strong communication and diplomatic skills.

• Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines.

Languages

All IOM staff members in all categories are required to be fluent in one of the IOM's official languages (English, French, Spanish).

For this position, fluency in English, French and Dutch is required (oral and written).
