CFCV/2026/043 Intern (Health Information and Program Engagement), Batam

1.  Under the direct guidance of the Head of Field Office, participate in relevant Refugee Care and Migration Health programme activities.
2. Support the implementation of Migration Health (MH) and Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) activities under the supervision of the relevant technical units in Batam.
3. Co-facilitate general/non-clinical counselling sessions under the direction and supervision of the Migration Health Unit.
4. To facilitate professional development, participate in the comprehensive case management process, guided and supervised by the Head of Field Office, Migration Health, and Refugee Care units.
5. Maintain documentation and record-keeping for training sessions, meetings, and other Migration Health unit initiatives.
6. Support the Migration Health unit in the collection and maintenance of data related to mental health and psychosocial support.
7. Provide assistance in health-related activities, including awareness sessions and health cadre meetings.  
8. Support the implementation of Assisted Voluntary Return and Reintegration (AVRR) and related movement operations, as appropriate and under relevant supervision.
9. Work closely with the Migration Health and Refugee Care teams to support data collection during field visits, coordinate with service providers, and participate in community meetings to enhance health information accuracy and program outcomes.
10. Undertake other duties and programme-related learning activities relevant to the internship as may be assigned.
     

Required Qualifications and Experience

Education

• Enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum undergraduate school) in Public health, Medical health, Psychology, Social Welfare, Social Work, Education, or a related field from an accredited academic institution; or
• Enrolled in a second university degree (graduate school/equivalent); or
•  Have graduated with a university degree within one year of graduation.
   

Experience

• Relevant professional or volunteer experience with civil society organizations, volunteer groups is an advantage.

Skills

• Excellence computer skills (word processing, spreadsheet, database, email exchange, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access), SPSS);
• Flexible and open to learning new experiences.
• Good interpersonal, networking, and communication skills,
• Ability to work effectively and harmoniously with colleagues from varied culture and professional backgrounds.
• Ability to write clear and concise report.
   

Languages

For this internship, fluency in English and Bahasa Indonesia is required (oral and written).

Proficiency of language(s) required will be specifically evaluated during the selection process, which may include written and/or oral assessments.

Depending on experience and location, interns are granted a small monthly stipend to help offset costs. Interns benefiting from an internship allowance or scholarship granted by their university or other sponsoring body that includes financial remuneration or credits for coursework will not be eligible for the stipend.

IOM covers Interns against occupational accidents and illnesses under the Compensation Plan (CP), free of charge, for the duration of the internship. IOM does not provide evacuation or medical insurance for reasons related to non-occupational accidents and illnesses. Interns are responsible for their own medical insurance for non-occupational accident or illness and will be required to provide written proof of such coverage before commencing work.
