Food and Agricultural Organization of the United Nations (FAO) is a specialized Agency established in October 1945, with the mission to contribute to eradicating hunger and achieving food security for all. It has a comprehensive mandate from its Members to work globally on all aspects of food and agriculture (including forestry, livestock and natural resources’ management), food security and nutrition. Task Description
The Online Volunteers will contribute to the translation of subtitles for the Film Impact Screenings, helping to expand outreach to WFF National Youth Chapters, partners, and broader audiences, while supporting engagement and amplifying the initiative's impact. As most of the films are currently available only in English, there is a need to increase accessibility for a wider range of audiences. In particular, to strengthen outreach across Asia and the Pacific, volunteers will support the translation and localization of subtitles and related materials into relevant regional languages, ensuring greater inclusivity and participation. Through the translation of films and accompanying toolkits, Online Volunteers will help make WFF content accessible to youth, community organizations, educational institutions, and partners across Asia and the Pacific, supporting broader engagement in discussions on agrifood systems, gender equality, and the International Year of the Woman Farmer 2026. The assignment seeks 3 Online Volunteers with proficiency in Thai. Online Volunteers will work in language teams to translate and review subtitle files for selected films and supporting toolkit materials. There are 13 films pre-selected, 2 Online Volunteers will support film translation while 1 Online Volunteer will support in translating the Impact Screening Toolkit (16 pages).
