Job Description

The International Potato Center (CIP), on behalf of WorldFish, is seeking one (1) Driver to support activities and the Office in Maputo.

WorldFish has established a hosting agreement with CIP for a project in Mozambique, leveraging CIP's legal and operational framework to facilitate administrative services.

This position will support the need for mobility of the technical staff based at the Maputo and Inhambane office and the driver will be programmed by the technical department.

The selected candidate will be based in Maputo, Mozambique, and will report to the Project Manager and administrative Assistant.

Key responsibilities:


  • Assist driving in Maputo, Gaza and Inhambane districts where WorldFish is operating.
  • Drive vehicles on errands for project activities and assist in the execution of project activities.
  • Ensure the work areas are always clean and maintain records for each trip details in the vehicle logbooks.
  • Ensure the vehicle maintenance by giving regular/day-to-day maintenance checks.
  • Provide day-to-day vehicle reports, monthly summary oil consumption and report to the supervisor any noted defects on time.

Requirements

  • Grade12 and experience in driving vehicles
  • At least 2 years of experience required in similar positions with a safe driving record.
  • Knowledge of driving rules and regulations.
  • Skills in minor vehicle maintenance and repairs.
  • Effective verbal communication for interacting with stakeholders.
  • Fluent in Portuguese and local language.
  • Basic Level in English.
