Are you passionate about software development and interested in supporting open science and reproducible research at CERN? Join our team that is building and running REANA, an open-source platform for reproducible computational data analyses!

Your responsibilities:

  • Participate in the frontend and backend development of the REANA reproducible data analysis platform.
  • Work closely with physicists to provide support for reusable computational data analysis practices in experiments.
  • Manage the service deployment and operations on the Kubernetes cloud.
  • Collaborate with external institutes and partners working on reproducible data analyses and open science infrastructure.

Your profile:

  • Experience in full-stack software development and with frontend and backend software engineering technologies.
  • Experience with container technologies and application deployment, monitoring and security.
  • Some familiarity with basic principles of computational research data analyses would be a plus.

Skills:

  • Frontend technologies: React.
  • Backend technologies: Python, Go.
  • Deployment: Docker, Kubernetes, Helm.
  • Spoken and written English, with a commitment to learn French.

Eligibility criteria:

  • You are a national of a CERN Member or Associate Member State.
  • By the application deadline, you have a maximum of two years of professional experience since graduation in Computer Science or equivalent (or a related field) and your highest educational qualification is either a Bachelor's or Master's degree.
  • You have never had a CERN fellow or graduate contract before.
  • Applicants without University degree are not eligible.
  • Applicants with a PhD are not eligible.

Additional Information

Job closing date: 09.09.2026 at 23:59 CEST.

Contract duration: 24 months, with a possible extension up to 36 months maximum.

Working hours: 40 hours per week

Job flexibility: Hybrid

Target start date: 01-November-2026

  • Stand-by duty, when required by the needs of the Organization.
  • Work during nights, Sundays and official holidays, when required by the needs of the Organization.
