Background/Organizational Context The Information and Technology Solutions (ITS) Vice Presidential Unit (VPU) enables the World Bank Group to achieve its mission of ending extreme poverty and boost shared prosperity on a livable planet by delivering transformative information and technologies to its staff working in over 150+ locations. For more information on ITS, see this video:https://www.youtube.com/watch?reload=9 v=VTFGffa1Y7w The Artificial Intelligence Unit (ITSAI) develops and operates the World Bank Group's enterprise AI capabilities, including the mAI platform and framework. The unit provides governed access to foundation models, reusable agentic capabilities, tools, skills, context management, data and knowledge integrations, guardrails, evaluation, and observability. This assignment will contribute directly to mAI engineering, with a focus on production-quality user experiences and reusable AI-agent capabilities. Duties and Responsibilities The mAI Full-Stack and AI Engineering Intern will work within ITSAI to design, build, test, and improve user-facing and agentic capabilities for mAI. The role combines modern frontend engineering with applied AI engineering. The Intern will contribute to responsive interfaces for long-running AI tasks, context-aware agent behavior, reusable tools and skills, and graph-based representations or workflows. Under the guidance of ITSAI technical leads, the Intern will collaborate with platform engineers, product teams, and business stakeholders to deliver secure, maintainable, and reusable components aligned with mAI architecture and World Bank Group standards.
