The World Bank Group Controllers, Solutions and Transformation Division, is seeking an experienced, forward-looking consultant to challenge conventional ways of working and help shape the future of finance. The consultant will engage leadership and cross-functional teams to diagnose complex issues, assess end-to-end processes, and design practical transformation solutions that improve efficiency, controls, data use, and stakeholder experience.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Lead a program to diagnose and transform end-to-end finance processes, including Record to Report (R2R), Order to Cash (O2C), Procure to Pay (P2P), and Originate to Distribute (OTD).
  • Use data analysis, process mining, performance measures, systems evidence, and other diagnostic techniques to identify bottlenecks, variation, rework, root causes, and improvement opportunities.
  • Design future-state processes and prioritized transformation roadmaps covering simplification, standardization, controls, data, technology, automation, AI, and agentic solutions.
  • Engage leadership, facilitate cross-functional alignment, and challenge stakeholders to think differently about finance processes, operating models, and emerging capabilities.
  • Translate findings into clear executive recommendations, decision points, business cases, and implementation actions, while transferring knowledge to internal teams.

WHAT YOU BRING

  • Advanced degree in finance, business, operations, engineering, data analytics, or a related field, with substantial experience leading finance process transformation in complex organizations.
  • Demonstrated expertise in end-to-end process assessment and redesign, supported by strong capabilities in data analysis, process mining, root-cause analysis, and benefits identification.
  • Practical understanding of AI, generative AI, and agentic approaches, with the ability to assess where these capabilities can responsibly improve finance processes and decision-making.
  • Lean Six Sigma Black Belt or comparable process improvement expertise; experience with DMAIC, value-stream mapping, SIPOC, FMEA, and related methods is desirable.
  • Strong influencing, facilitation, and communication skills, with the judgment to navigate ambiguity and mobilize stakeholders around new ways of working.

Success will be demonstrated through high-quality diagnostic insights, credible and actionable transformation recommendations, effective leadership engagement, practical stop-gap measures, and measurable progress toward simpler, data-enabled, AI-ready end-to-end finance processes.
