Mission and objectives

WFP in Ghana has been supporting national development through four thematic pillars: Nutrition, Food Systems, Social Protection and Emergency Preparedness and response. Efforts have hinged largely on private sector participation in the supply of nutritious foods for prevention of malnutrition, transformation of agricultural value chains and strengthening of social protection programmes. To fully meet its objectives in Ghana, WFP is increasing its ‘enabler’ role by providing capacity strengthening for national institutions and supporting advocacy to improve food security and nutrition outcomes.
