📌 Type of Contract: Special Service Agreement – When Actually Employed

📍 Duty Station: Gaza

➡️ Duration: 6 months (Renewable)

➡️ Job Type: Part Time (4 days per month)

The position is only open to nationals or residents with a legal permit/ID to work in Gaza.

The challenges of working in difficult conditions to bring much needed food and support to our recipients while inherently rewarding, can place a great deal of pressure and stress on WFP staff. As a part of a multidisciplinary team under the Staff Wellness Division, the Staff Counselling Unit is committed to the promotion of psychological and physical health in the broadest sense so staff can continue to function at high levels in order to meet the mandate of the organization. We do this by identifying and addressing psychological risk factors in the workplace, and through the provision of counselling services to staff members and their dependents.

ACCOUNTABILITIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

• The Family Liaison Outreach Community (FLOCK) Wellbeing Activator (Sport) will report to the Staff Counsellor for Palestine. We are looking for a passionate, highly organized and open-minded individual.

• The FLOCK Wellbeing Activator (Sport) will be responsible for performing the following duties:

• Develop age/gender-appropriate children’s physical and psychological abilities by combining sports training (kickboxing) with sports psychological support techniques. (age groups: 5-12; 13-15; 16-22).

• Develop children’s physical abilities: Improve fitness, strength, and endurance through age-appropriate kickboxing training.

• Ensure that all activities are delivered in a safe, age-appropriate and inclusive manner, in full compliance with applicable safeguarding requirements

• Instill positive values: Such as teamwork, mutual respect, discipline, and cooperation.

• Support social growth: Encourage children to build friendships and develop effective communication skills

• Maintain the highest ethical standards related to confidentiality, consistent with the Wellness Code of Ethics

• Provide sports and recreational activities for staff and family members

• Other as required.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

Education: Specialist sports-relevant qualification and/or Activator/Youth Worker training can be considered in lieu of educational experience

Experience: Minimum 2 to 3 years of experience in kickboxing, martial arts or a related field

Knowledge& Skills: Strong practical knowledge of kickboxing/martial arts coaching techniques and sports safety. Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills, including the ability to engage children and adolescents appropriately. Demonstrated sensitivity to safeguarding, confidentiality, diversity and inclusion. Ability to operate effectively across organizational boundaries and establish and maintain effective working relationships in a multi-cultural, multi-ethnic environment with sensitivity and respect for diversity. Creativity, patience and a positive, inclusive coaching approach.

Languages: Fluency in Arabic is required. Working knowledge of English is an asset.
