Context

As part of our literacy project for children and youth, the Ann Foundation offers online English classes to empower, educate, and support students in developing essential skills. Online volunteers play a key role in developing appropriate curriculum, teaching English, building confidence, and motivating children and youth to pursue their educational and career goals. Our mission is to provide the right platform and learning opportunities for underprivileged children and youth to reach their full potential.

Task Description

Summary Statement: By the end of the 12-week project develop a complete, age-appropriate General English as a Foreign Language (EFL) curriculum at CEFR levels Pre-A1 to A2. CEFR = Common European Framework of Reference for Languages Details: In a small curriculum writing team review and adapt 5 pages per week of Ann Foundation’s existing Young Learner curriculum (ages 3-10) at CEFR levels Pre-A1 to A2 so that it is appropriate for use with teenage learners (ages 13–18). Over 12 weeks this will result in one completed curriculum package of 50 pages. The revised curriculum will align with CEFR learning outcomes and include an updated curriculum, scope and sequence, learning outcomes, age-appropriate themes and activities, standardized lesson templates, assessment strategies, and tutor guidance. All content will be reviewed to ensure it is engaging, relevant to adolescent learners, culturally inclusive, and suitable for delivery in online and low-resource learning environments. Success will be measured by the completion of all planned curriculum components, internal review for quality and CEFR alignment, and approval for pilot implementation by the project stakeholders within the 12-week timeframe.
