Jadir Taekwondo Association (AJTKD) is a Brazilian non-profit organization that has used sport as tools for social inclusion, youth development, environmental education, health and well-being and community development since 2000. Through its international work, AJTKD coordinates the Martial Arts Coalition for Sustainable Development (MCS), an initiative connecting organizations working through martial arts and related practices with the Sustainable Development Goals and the 2030 Agenda. The Coalition currently brings together more than 120 organizations across different regions of the world. As the network develops, there is a need to better understand the broader landscape of organizations using martial arts and sport to address sustainable development challenges. This assignment will support that process by creating a structured map of relevant organizations and initiatives. The resulting research will help AJTKD identify opportunities for knowledge exchange, networking and collaboration among organizations working in related fields. The assignment will therefore contribute to strengthening connections between grassroots sport initiatives and the wider sustainable development community.

Task Description

AJTKD is seeking two Online Volunteers to support research and mapping of organizations around the world that use martial arts and sport as tools for sustainable development. The volunteers will identify and document relevant civil society organizations, clubs and academies, sport-for-development initiatives, youth organizations, community groups, federations and other initiatives whose activities contribute to areas such as social inclusion, youth empowerment, education, peacebuilding, gender equality, health and well-being, environmental sustainability and community development. The main tasks will include: - Conducting online research to identify relevant organizations and initiatives. - Mapping organizations according to country/region, type of organization, thematic focus and target beneficiaries. - Reviewing publicly available information to understand each organization's activities and contribution to sustainable development. - Recording relevant information in a structured database, including organization name, country, website, contact information where publicly available, areas of work and relevant SDGs. - Identifying organizations whose work demonstrates potential alignment with the objectives of the Martial Arts Coalition for Sustainable Development (MCS), a global initiative of AJTKD. - Providing a brief rationale for why selected organizations may be relevant for future networking and collaboration. - Organizing the findings into a prioritized list for review by the AJTKD team. The assignment focuses on research, mapping and analysis. The Online Volunteers will not be responsible for contacting organizations.
