Mission and objectives

UNICEF works to promote and protect the rights of every child, with a particular focus on those who are most vulnerable and disadvantaged. We work with the government to improve national and regional policies, programmes and services for children and adolescents. Together with partners, we address common barriers to the realization of their rights.

Task Description

Under the supervision of the Public Partnerships Officer, the Public Partnerships Associate will undertake the following functions: • Support the implementation and institutionalization of UNISON within the UNICEF Philippines Country Office, including data quality assurance, pipeline management, opportunity tracking, reporting, and user support. • Strengthen the use of UNICEF corporate digital platforms, partnership intelligence tools, and data analytics to support public partnership development, resource mobilization, and decision-making. • Contribute to the development of reports, dashboards, and analytical products to strengthen partnership performance monitoring and resource mobilization efforts. • Perform other partnership and resource mobilization-related tasks as required by the supervisor The role requires a high degree of professionalism, discretion, and sound judgement, as the UN Volunteer will support partnership management processes involving sensitive organizational information, donor intelligence, funding opportunities, and stakeholder engagement data. The incumbent will be expected to work independently, manage competing priorities with minimal supervision, and maintain accuracy and confidentiality in handling information and records. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues across teams in a hybrid work environment are essential. Living conditions and remarks

The assignment is based in Manila (Mandaluyong City, located at the UN House) and is primarily desk-based, with no regular travel anticipated. Manila is the capital city of the Philippines and forms part of the National Capital Region, the country’s political, economic and cultural centre. The Philippines Country Office in Mandaluyong City and is housed with other UN agencies. The office area is a modern mixed-use business district with restaurants, banks, convenience stores, hotels, condominiums and apartments nearby. English and Filipino are official languages, with English widely used in business, government and education. The Philippines has a tropical maritime climate, with a dry season from December to May and a wet season from June to November. Manila is generally liveable for international personnel, but staff should maintain normal urban-security precautions. Main risks include petty crime in crowded areas, pickpocketing and phone snatching, scams, credit/ATM-card fraud, road traffic accidents and disruption linked to demonstrations or severe weather. The Philippines is exposed to natural hazards, including typhoons, flooding, earthquakes, volcanic eruptions and tsunamis. UNICEF personnel receive an UNDSS security briefing on arrival and are included in the warden system. Housing options in Metro Manila are broad and include condominiums, apartments, townhouses, serviced apartments and houses in gated communities. Manila is suitable for families with children. Public and private schools are available, and Metro Manila has several international schools offering American, British, International Baccalaureate and other international curricula. English is the primary medium of instruction in many schools. Day-care options are plentily available, and many staff also consider having a nanny to help with smaller children. Work opportunities for spouses/partners are available, and any prospective employment, consultancy or self-employment by a spouse or partner should therefore be checked in advance with UNICEF Administration and the relevant Philippine authorities, as work authorisation requirements may differ from residence or dependent visa status.
