    Introduction

    UNDP Viet Nam is seeking for National Consultant to lead the review and updating of the course materials, deliver training of trainers, organize extracurricular activities for students and pilot the teaching of the course ‘Gender and Gender Equality in Policy and Law’ at Hanoi Law University, as described in this documentation.

    Description of the Assignment: The overall objective of the assignment is to support Hanoi Law University in updating and finalising the course materials, piloting the course Gender and Gender Equality in Policy and Law”, thereby strengthening the capacity of lecturers and students in relation to gender, gender equality and gender mainstreaming in the development, implementation and assessment of policies and laws, and contributing to the promotion of gender-responsive access to justice in Viet Nam.

    Specific objectives:

    • Review, update and finalise the course materials to reflect recent legal developments, practical experience, relevant international standards, and recommendations from national and international experts. This will include finalising the course syllabus, lesson plans, Teaching Guide, case studies, question bank and learning-outcome assessment tools, ensuring that the materials are ready for piloting and subsequent roll-out;
    • Strengthen the professional and pedagogical capacity of lecturers at Hanoi Law University through the Training of Trainers (TOT) course, ensuring their ability to effectively use the course materials and apply active teaching and learning methods in the delivery of the course
    • Enhance students’ awareness, knowledge, interest and engagement in gender, gender equality and gender mainstreaming through academic and extracurricular activities; and
    • Pilot the delivery of the course “Gender and Gender Equality in Policy and Law” at Hanoi Law University over one academic term, including: (i) preparing and handing over the teaching and learning materials for course delivery; (ii) developing and updating case studies and exercises; (iii) delivering the pilot course; and (iv) evaluating the pilot results and collecting feedback from lecturers and students to further refine the teaching and learning materials, course content and teaching methods, as a basis for proposing the formal integration of the course into the University’s curriculum.

    Period of assignment/services: 20 working days from September 2026 to March 20267
