The availability, accessibility and use of reliable and timely gender data and statistics are critical for monitoring progress towards gender equality and women's empowerment, identifying inequalities and emerging trends, and informing evidence-based policies and programmes. UN Women works to strengthen the production, dissemination and use of gender statistics and to address persistent gender data gaps.
The UN Women Europe and Central Asia Regional Office (ECA RO) supports country offices and national partners in strengthening gender data and statistics, promotes greater availability and use of gender data for policy and advocacy, and develops regional and country-level analysis on key gender equality issues. This includes compiling and maintaining country and regional gender data, monitoring trends and data gaps, supporting the development of analytical and knowledge products, and strengthening the visualization and communication of gender statistics.
To support the implementation of the regional gender data and statistics portfolio, UN Women ECA RO is seeking a Data Analyst Intern. The intern will provide analytical and data management support, including compiling and updating data from multiple sources, processing and analyzing gender statistics, developing data visualizations, and supporting thematic analyses on priority gender equality issues.
Under the guidance and supervision of the Regional Gender Statistics Specialist of UN Women ECA Regional Office (ECA RO), the intern will support the implementation of the regional gender data and statistics portfolio. his includes the following:
