Under the United Nations Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework (UNSDCF) 2026–2030 and the UN Women Armenia Biannual Work Plan (2026–2027), UN Women supports the Government of Armenia and national partners in advancing gender equality and women's empowerment through strengthening gender-responsive governance, promoting women's leadership and participation in decision-making, preventing and responding to violence against women and girls, advancing the Women, Peace and Security agenda, expanding women's economic empowerment, and transforming discriminatory social norms and gender stereotypes.
Working in partnership with government institutions, civil society organizations, women's rights organizations, academia, the private sector, development partners and the United Nations system, UN Women implements a diverse portfolio of programmes and initiatives aimed at strengthening institutional capacities, promoting gender-responsive policies and services, supporting women's leadership and participation, advancing gender-responsive governance, and fostering inclusive and equitable social and economic development. These interventions are implemented through national and regional partnerships and contribute to Armenia's international commitments on gender equality, human rights, sustainable development, and peace and security.
Reporting to the Programme Analyst, Gender Equality in Yerevan, Armenia, under the overall guidance of the Programme Specialist based in Armenia, the Programme Assistant provides programme, administrative and operational support for the effective implementation of UN Women's programme portfolio in Armenia. The incumbent supports programme planning and implementation, financial and administrative processes, monitoring and reporting, partner coordination, procurement, logistics, knowledge management and communications, ensuring compliance with UN Women policies, procedures and donor requirements.
Working closely with programme teams in Armenia and operations teams in Armenia and Georgia, the Regional Office for Europe and Central Asia, government counterparts, civil society organizations, development partners and other stakeholders, the Project Assistant contributes to the efficient delivery of programme activities, facilitates coordination across multiple programme portfolios, and supports the effective implementation of UN Women's strategic priorities in Armenia.
Scope of Work:

In July 2010, the United Nations General Assembly created UN Women, the United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women.
