Background
Yayasan Plan International Indonesia (YPII) operates through its Country Office in Jakarta and field offices across Indonesia. Staff, visitors, facilities, vehicles, and program activities face a range of safety and security risks, including natural hazards, road safety, civil unrest, and emergencies during program implementation.
YPII requires dedicated technical capacity to keep its safety and security policies, procedures, training, and reporting up to date, and to ensure every office complies with organizational standards. This Terms of Reference sets out the scope of work for a Safety & Security Consultant who will carry out these functions under the supervision of the Supply Chain Manager and in an advisory role with the Operations Director and Executive Director.
Purpose
Because the Safety & Security Coordinator position is vacant and day-to-day safety & security roles must be maintained, the Consultant will plan, coordinate, and deliver safety and security work across YPII. This includes safety and security updates and reporting to management, maintaining the Emergency Communication Tree, conducting safety and security training and drills, carrying out safety and security risk assessments and emergency response assessments, and supporting the logistics arrangements for Non-Food Item (NFI) distribution, including NFI warehouse stock updates. The Consultant will coordinate closely with the Supply Chain Manager and the Operations Director on safety and security reporting.
