Job Overview: The Caseworker provides trauma-informed services to refugees and other ORR-eligible immigrants to support a positive integration experience and the achievement of client self-sufficiency. This position delivers individualized case management services, develops self-sufficiency plans in partnership with clients, and connects households to essential resources in the community. The Caseworker works closely with clients, colleagues, and external service providers to ensure timely access to benefits, housing, healthcare, employment, and other supports necessary for successful resettlement.

Major Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Conduct intakes and needs assessments to identify strengths, barriers, and goals for enrolled clients.
  • Develop Family Self-Sufficiency Plans (FSSPs) and Individual Employability Plans (IEPs) with clients, ensuring alignment with program and donor requirements.
  • Provide trauma-informed case management services, including direct support, referrals, and advocacy with service providers.
  • Coordinate access to housing, benefits, healthcare, education, and employment services.
  • Monitor client progress toward goals, adjusting plans as needed, and ensure documentation is timely and accurate in case files and data systems.
  • Maintain strong relationships with community partners and service providers to expand available resources for clients.
  • Participate in case conferences, team meetings, and trainings to promote quality service delivery and professional development.
  • Follow all IRC policies and procedures, including safeguarding, data protection, and confidentiality protocols.

Job Requirements

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or related field strongly preferred; comparable work experience may be substituted.

Work Experience:

  • Minimum 2 years of case management experience in a social services environment.
  • Experience working with vulnerable or underserved populations preferred.

Demonstrated Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong organizational and time-management skills; detail-oriented.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a cross-cultural, multi-disciplinary team.
  • Problem-solver with ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; public speaking experience preferred.

Language Skills:

  • Proficiency in English required; bilingual ability in Spanish, Dari, Swahili, Kinyarwanda, Arabic, French, or other refugee/immigrant language preferred.

Certificates or Licenses:

  • Valid driver’s license, active insurance policy, and access to reliable transportation.
  • Must possess or be eligible for a fingerprint clearance card per Arizona state law.

Working Environment

  • A combination of standard office environment, remote work, and ‘field’ time within the service delivery area to perform the above outlined responsibilities.
  • Occasional evening or weekend work may be required.
  • Must be able to lift 35–50 pounds (furniture, household supplies, food boxes).

Compensation: ($20.97/hr). Compensation is based on various factors including the labor market, job type, internal equity, and budget. Exact offers are calibrated by work location, individual candidate experience and skills relative to the defined job requirements
