Internship title: Next Generation EUMETSAT Software Defined Radio High Data Rate Receivers
Software Define Radio receivers have been available for quite some time. In more recent times, some receiver manufactures as well as ground station service providers are offering software-based high data rate receivers running on either dedicated servers or in general common shared infrastructure (Virtual Machines (VM)). The ultimate performance of such receivers and the declared quality of service (QoS) is not only related to the price to be paid but also to the capability of the service to provider to access cutting edge technology infrastructure.
It became apparent that the architecture of the EUMETSAT payload data reception ground stations equipment will have to be aligned to new technologies and new needs whilst reducing costs for current and future Programmes.
The purpose of this internship is to study, analyse and propose potential future architectures and solutions in the area of high data rate software-based receivers. This internship will provide students with the possibility to put in practice several different signal processing techniques learnt at university.
The internships are open to bachelor and master students with mandatory internship requirements in relevant disciplines such as Telecommunication.
The official languages of EUMETSAT are English and French. It is necessary to be able to work effectively in English.
