Organizational Setting and Reporting Relationship
The position of Senior Project Assistant is assigned to the Türkiye Resident Mission (TURM) within the Central and West Department (CWRD). You will be based at our Resident Mission Office in Ankara, Türkiye.
You will report to the Country Director (CD), TURM and/or designated Technical International Staff.
Your Role
As a Senior Project Assistant, you will provide operational support in coordinating the Division-wide activities relating to TURM operations. You will provide executive support to the TURM Country Director and front office activities.
You will:
- Assist TURM in the recruitment of consultants and in the preparation of Consultant Management System (CMS) requests and in the documentation for short-listing and processing of contract variations.
- Assist the division with processing of Technical Assistance projects.
- Provide support to TURM events, training programs, conferences, and meetings.
- Manage mission logistics for the Country Director by coordinating mission schedules, facilitating travel and visa arrangements through engagement with internal and external counterparts, and ensuring the preparation of comprehensive mission documentation and itineraries.
- Maintain liaison with government authorities and agencies, development partners and other partners, and ADB HQ to support and facilitate operations and coordination, client and partner relations, and general external relations.
- Arrange office-wide activities, including senior visits from HQ and major events involving ADB at the institution level.
- Ensure intra-office communications, including sharing of guiding information, both from within TURM and from HQ, and among TURM team members.
- Manage efficient and well-monitored records for TURM. Translate incoming correspondence and interpret during meetings with government officials.
- Perform other tasks assigned and reflected in your workplan.
Qualifications
You will need:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, technology, finance, accounting, business administration, other social science or related fields.
- At least 5 years of relevant work experience.
- Preferably related experience in international agencies.
- Proficiency in standard software in word-processing, spreadsheets, and graphics software programs and information technologies such as in MS Office Suite.
- Good understanding of the role and responsibilities of the office and a good general understanding of ADB's purpose and operations in Türkiye.
- Proficiency in written and verbal communications skills in English and Turkish.

Additional Information
This appointment is open to internal and external applicants.
This opening is a local staff position. It is open only to nationals and permanent residents of Türkiye.
This is a fixed term appointment with option to renew, initially for a period of up to 3 years, or up to the Normal Retirement Date (NRD), whichever comes earlier, for the purpose(s) and conditions determined by ADB, in accordance with Administrative Order No. 2.01 (Recruitment and Appointment). After the initial fixed-term period, ADB may choose to renew the appointment for up to an additional 3 years or not renewed. This decision will be made in the overall interest of ADB, based on factors including but not limited to the requirement of Staff's particular blend of skills and experience for the medium-term work program of the organizational unit, sufficient funding to cover the renewed period, and Staff's performance and suitability for employment. There is no limit to the number of renewals up to NRD. However, this appointment is not convertible to a regular appointment.
