Job Description

Our ideal candidate is a motivated HR professional with hands-on experience in recruitment—particularly of contingent workers and volunteers—HR administration, and maintaining accurate records. We are looking for a committed individual who provides timely HR support while upholding NRC’s values, and who demonstrates the ability to handle insecure environments, plan and deliver results, build trust, and communicate with impact and respect. 

Specific responsibilities 

  • Manage Contingent worker/Volunteer recruitment and Support in national staff recruitment.
  • Ensure all Recruitment documents are filed and documented for the future records.
  • Ensure new staff that they are properly inducted in the first week of their employment and sign the required on-boarding documents.
  • Ensure new Contingent workers that they are properly inducted on the first day of their work and sign the required on-boarding documents.
  • Ensure Contingent worker IDs on the first day of their work.
  • Ensure the Contingent worker database is up to date and track the expiration date of ToR.
  • Be available to staff to answer HR questions as needed.
  • Organize as requested workshops, training schedules, and events hosted by NRC Bangladesh.
  • Regular visit of field office and camps 
  • Other HR and admin duties as assign by line manager
  • These responsibilities shall be adapted to the particularities of the job location and context, phase of operation, strategic focus and type of programme intervention. This section shall be revised whenever a new employee is hired or the context changes significantly.

Professional Competencies: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, human resources, relevant field.
  • 01 years plus relevant working experience as a HR with an International INGO is preferred. 
  • Fluent in English and Bangla
  • Oral proficiency in the Chittagonian/Rohingya dialect
  • Knowledge of governance and administrative structures in Bangladesh
  • Knowledge of Bangladesh labor legislation and policies related to INGO work in the country will add advantages.
  • Experience in managing Contingent worker/volunteer recruitment.
  • Documented results related to the position’s responsibilities.
  • Previous experience of working in complex and volatile contexts, especially in the Rohingya camp context.
  • Experience in Microsoft Office management.

Additional Information: 

The HR Assistant is required to travel frequently to field offices and camps within the Cox's Bazar area.
