Currently, GGGI supports the Government of Indonesia (GoI) under the joint GoI-GGGI Green Growth Program (GGP, “the Program”). The Program aims to demonstrate that green investments can become the norm, both for investors and planners, ultimately improving the quality of economic development while maintaining environmental sustainability and social inclusion. Through the Program, GGGI collaborates with the Ministry of Development Planning (Bappenas), the Coordinating Ministry of Economic Affairs, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, the Ministry of Environment, the Ministry of Forestry, PT Sarana Multi Infrastruktur (“PT SMI”), and others.
The Senior Associate, Communications and Knowledge Sharing, will serve as the communications lead of the Investment Unit of GGGI Indonesia. GGGI’s Country Office in Indonesia implements the Green Growth Program under the auspices of the Ministry of National Development Planning (Bappenas). The program aims to improve the quality of economic development in Indonesia while maintaining environmental sustainability and social inclusion. Mobilizing green investments for the Government of Indonesia is a key outcome of the Program, making strategic communication of GGGI’s impact essential to strengthening business matchmaking and investor engagement.
Working under the guidance of the Senior Communications Officer and in close coordination with the Investment Unit Lead, the candidate will be responsible for implementing the Unit’s communication and outreach efforts. This includes developing communications action plans for the Unit’s projects, creating investor-oriented content, facilitating media and stakeholder engagement, and supporting knowledge-sharing and advocacy activities in an inclusive and environmentally sustainable manner. This role is critical to elevating GGGI Indonesia’s profile with investors, partners, and government stakeholders by delivering compelling narratives that demonstrate investment value and impact, particularly through projects within the Investment Unit.
The Senior Associate will be part of GGGI Indonesia’s Communications and Knowledge Sharing team, reporting to the Senior Communications Officer, while also supporting GGGI’s regional and global communication and knowledge sharing initiatives.
Coordinate the communications and outreach efforts of the Investment Unit by developing, implementing, and monitoring the Unit’s communication tactics and activities to enhance visibility and stakeholder engagement. These strategies should be integrated into GGGI Indonesia’s Annual Communications Plan.
Support the Senior Communications Officer in driving the advancement and execution of the GGGI Indonesia Annual Communications Action Plans, employing innovative and creative, audience-centric methodologies and aligning with the GGGI Global Communications Strategy.
Translate complex green investment concepts and project impacts into compelling narratives across multiple formats — including blogs, videos, case studies, investor briefs, and thought leadership content — that resonate with diverse audiences from institutional investors to grassroots stakeholders.
Ensure consistent messaging and branding across all GGGI platforms, including websites, social media, and external materials, while positioning GGGI as a trusted partner in mobilizing green finance and sustainable investment for the Government of Indonesia.
Collaborate closely with the GGGI Indonesia Communications and Knowledge Sharing team and the Investment Unit to ensure brand consistency and strategic messaging across all communication materials and channels.
Facilitate engagement and dialogue with decision-makers from the Government of Indonesia, private sector investors, development finance institutions, and other key stakeholders within the Unit’s portfolio.
Build and maintain strategic relationships with journalists, media outlets, and thought leaders to amplify GGGI’s green investment initiatives and position the organization as a leader in sustainable development financing.
Engage with GGGI’s regional and global communications teams to exchange best practices, execute cross-border campaigns, and contribute to the organization’s broader knowledge-sharing ecosystem.
Strategic Unit Communications
Design and lead the production of investment-focused communications materials — including project factsheets, investor briefs, impact case studies, press releases, digital content, videos, op-eds, and pitch decks — that effectively communicate project achievements, investment opportunities, and development impacts to diverse stakeholder groups.
Provide strategic advice and develop the overall communications strategy, including reputational risk management for the investment unit.
Establish mitigation and narrative management approaches
Increase Indonesia Investment activity visibility and support stakeholder engagement and networking activities
Co-lead the development of GGGI Indonesia’s 2026-2030 Communications Plan, identifying strategic communication targets, channels, and tactics to increase brand awareness and stakeholder engagement with investors and partners.
Ensure all communication initiatives comply with GGGI's Branding and Visual Identity Guidelines as well as donor-specific branding requirements, maintaining professional standards across all deliverables.
Lead the conceptualization, planning, and delivery of external-facing knowledge-sharing events of the Investment Unit.
Support the Investment Lead in managing and monitoring the communications budget across all projects within the Investment Unit, ensuring timely delivery of communication activities and outputs.
Country Corporate Communications
Co-develop and implement GGGI Indonesia's annual communications action plan in collaboration with the Senior Communications Officer.
Co-lead reputation and issues management for the Investment Unit by proactively monitoring stakeholder sentiment and media coverage, identifying and mitigating potential communication risks, developing response protocols for sensitive topics, and strategically positioning GGGI's achievements to strengthen credibility and trust with government partners, investors, and donors.
Provide strategic recommendations to increase the visibility of the larger GGGI Indonesia Country Program under the Green Indonesia Future Initiative (GIFT) 2026-2030.
Facilitate internal communications for GGGI Indonesia, including cross-team learning sessions and development of clear, strategic messaging frameworks for the Investment Unit as GGGI ambassadors.
Stay abreast of pertinent research and news within GGGI's scope, distilling key messages for both internal colleagues and critical external audiences, such as implementing partners, government stakeholders, and project donors.
Analyze, measure, and report on communication efforts and provide advice if strategies and interventions need adjustment. This includes monitoring and data analysis of media coverage and public sentiment results of communication approaches and activities.
Stakeholder Engagement
Collaborate with communication counterparts of all projects within the Investment Unit, e.g., the Ministry of Forestry’s, the Ministry of Finance’s, and/or the Ministry of Creative Economy’s Public Relations Unit, to co-design and implement project communications plans.
Engage strategically with diverse stakeholders, including startups, financial institutions, impact investors, development finance institutions, and community-based enterprises, to identify storytelling opportunities and amplify GGGI’s visibility in the green investment ecosystem.
Proactively develop and execute communication tactics to engage with investors in the private or public sector, supporting the mobilization of green investment for the Government of Indonesia.
Collaborate with all project teams with the Investment Unit to develop donor reports (monthly, quarterly, yearly, depending on the agreement) and lead the development of the communications section.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in communications, public relations, media studies, journalism, development studies, finance, business, or a related field.
At least 5 years (preferably 6) of relevant working experience in corporate communications or development communications. Candidates with a relevant Master’s degree and 3 years of experience will be considered.
Demonstrated ability to create high-impact communication materials for diverse audiences, with preference for experience in multilateral, international development, or impact investment contexts.
Experience working for international organizations, non-government organizations, donor-funded projects, development finance institutions, or government bodies is an asset.
Experience in communications for the financial sector, impact investment, or sustainable finance is a strong asset.
Fluency in English and Bahasa Indonesia, indicating the ability to speak, read, and write in both languages fluently and accurately, with a deep understanding of grammar, vocabulary, and nuances.
Knowledge of green growth, climate finance, environmental economics, or sustainable development is desirable.
Strong analytical and report-writing skills are an advantage.
Demonstrates good communication and organizational skills, along with effective teamwork.
Ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with GGGI partner institutions.
Ability to work in an organized, systematic manner, with a degree of innovation and decision-making abilities.
Ability to perform in a demanding atmosphere and self-motivate to produce quality results in a timely manner.

Senior Associate is an X7 grade level in GGGI’s National salary scale. Determination of base salary is subject to the candidate's experience, academic background, and internal equity.
GGGI provides 15% of base salary towards retirement plan/long-term savings, 27 days of annual leave, and private health insurance that covers dental and vision.
