Working across a global footprint, IOM prepares individuals arriving through resettlement and other safe and regular pathways for their successful integration in the UK through tailored pre-departure and post arrival activities.
Under the overall supervision of the National Resettlement and Complementary Pathways Officer and direct supervision of the Senior Project Associate (Resettlement and Integration), the incumbent will support the delivery of capacity building training on integration and assist in identifying opportunities to work in partnership with a range of stakeholders to facilitate better integration and social cohesion.
- Support the preparation of content and planning of delivery of capacity building trainings in the thematic areas of resettlement, integration, and migrant assistance, in line with IOM’s strategic priorities, policies.
- Support the coordination with stakeholders to contribute to the achievement of programme objectives.
- Coordinate the collection, consolidation, and quality review of inputs on capacity building trainings for periodic and annual donor reports.
- Liaise with relevant overseas missions to gather input on capacity building training products and support the review of curriculum scripts developed by IOM UK for alignment with donor requirements and IOM guidance.
- Draft and disseminate information articles and news briefs for publication on the IOM website and social media platforms, contributing to the visibility of IOM UK’s work on capacity building initiatives.
- Contribute inputs to project proposal preparation in the areas of resettlement, integration, and protection of migrant children, under the guidance of supervisor.
- Assist in the delivery of ongoing resettlement and integration activities under the UK resettlement projects, including pre-departure orientation for refugees, information sessions for local authorities, and training activities for community sponsors and other stakeholders.
- Support the integration of lived experience /experts by experience approaches across relevant projects, in coordination with the project teams.
- Explore and support opportunities for private sector collaboration, related to initiatives aimed at facilitating social cohesion and integration.
- Maintain regular communication with central and local government departments, Regional Strategic Migration Partnerships (RSMPs), charities and other partners on programme-related matters, including capacity building trainings.
- Supervise staff assigned, provide guidance and assist in coordinating and monitoring their work.
- Provide planning and implementation support for key events such as International Migrants Day, Refugee Week, and other migrant/refugee-led initiatives and conferences.
- Perform other related tasks as assigned in support of team objectives.
Education
Experience
Relevant experience in refugee migration-related issues and project support.
Experience liaising with a variety of stakeholders, including governmental authorities, international and national institutions, diplomatic missions and non-governmental partners.
Experience supporting community engagement activities.
Experience supporting the delivery of trainings and workshops.
Experience preparing clear and concise reports and documentation.
Experience using standard office software, particularly Microsoft Office applications.

Languages
For this position, fluency in English is required (oral and written).
Working knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, and Spanish) is an advantage.
Proficiency in Arabic /Kurdish an advantage. Proficiency in Dari, Pashto is also an advantage in this role.
Proficiency of language(s) required will be specifically evaluated during the selection process, which may include written and/or oral assessments.
