Flexible - This internship is designed to be in-person and full-time (35 hours), but can be adjusted based on request by the successful candidate.

Duties and Responsibilities
The intern is located in the Global Strategy and Policy Division (GSPD), the Office of Human Resources (OHR), Department of Management Strategy, Policy and Compliance (DMSPC). The intern reports to a Project Lead, Staff Development Officer or Human Resources Officer. Depending on the intern’s background and interests and the needs and ongoing activities of GSPD, an intern will gain hands-on experience in two or more of the following areas: A. Administrative and Technical Skills: -Assist in designing, updating and/or maintaining internal records, databases, and SharePoint files, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality. -Use and/or effectively apply a variety of Office 365 apps, Power BI, or other software to prepare team presentations, reports, and communications. B. Communications, Translation and Adaptation: -Assist in the planning and dissemination of communication products. -Contribute to translations or adaptations from and into languages you are proficient in such as English, French, Arabic, Chinese, Russian and Spanish -Design or edit visuals that align with United Nations branding guidelines -Learn or further develop skills in using software to design, develop and/or edit visual products such as infographics, presentations, interactive visuals, and videos. C. Research and Data Analysis: -Conduct research on HR-related policies, best practices, and data trends; and summarize key findings. -Collect and analyze data for internal reports, budgetary submissions, and oversight reviews. -Develop visual solutions and reports based on multiple data sources to support decision-making. D. Organizational Learning and Development: -Help design, develop, implement learning and development initiatives and training materials on a range of topics (e.g., leadership and management, inclusion, coaching, career transition, and performance management). -Help plan, coordinate and support briefings, community engagements, learning and knowledge-sharing events. - Support the launch and the learning experience design of a new enterprise-level Learning Management System for the UN Secretariat. E. Other Opportunities: -Collaborate with different teams within OHR to support cross-functional HR initiatives. -Propose solutions to enhance efficiency or effectiveness in achieving team deliverables.
Qualifications/special skills
Applicants must meet one of the following requirements: (a) be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); (b) be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor’s degree or equivalent). Educational background or exposure to human resources, psychology, education, public administration or related issues is desirable. Applicants to the UN Internship Programme are not required to have professional work. experience. However, a field of study that is closely related to the type of internship that you are applying for is required. Applicants must be a student in the final year of the first university degree (bachelor or equivalent), Master’s or Ph.D. Programme or equivalent, or have completed a Bachelor’s, Master’s or Ph.D. Programme. Applicants should have good knowledge of standard software applications, especially MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and MS Excel. Ability to use content authoring software (Articulate 360, HP5, etc.), synchronous learning tools (MS Teams, Zoom, etc.), learning platforms (Moodle, Totara, etc.), data analytic tools (Power BI, SQL, Python) and media design software (Adobe CC, Canva, etc.) is desirable. Languages
​English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. Fluency in spoken and written English is required for the internship. Knowledge of an additional official UN language is an advantage. Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian and Spanish are the official languages of the United Nations Secretariat.
