Mission and objectives
Istanbul International Center for Private Sector in Development (IICPSD) supports the private sector and foundations to become transformative partners in development through research, advocacy for inclusive business, facilitation of public-private dialogue and brokering partnerships. IICPSD, established in 2011 in partnership with the Government of Turkey, is one of UNDP's six Global Policy Centres. It leads UNDP’s global work on private sector and foundations and supports UNDP’s offices all over the world. The Center focuses on four thematic areas: 1. Inclusive Business; 2. Private Sector Engagement in Skills Development; 3. Impact investing; 4. Resilience and Crisis Response. The Center also hosts four global initiatives: Business Call to Action, SDG Philanthropy Platform, Global Islamic Finance and Impact Investing Platform and Connecting Business Initiative.Context
The Digital Catalogue of Managed Assets for Bosnia and Herzegovina initiative, implemented under the Tech4R programme in collaboration with UNODC and the Federal Asset Management Agency, aims to improve transparency, accountability, and public access to information on confiscated or managed properties. The catalogue will display structured, verified data on assets — such as type, status, and use — through a web-based, visually intuitive interface. To ensure the data presented in the catalogue is accurate, consistent, and easy to interpret, the Trainer on Data Structuring & Visualization will guide community volunteers in cleaning, organizing, and visualizing institutional datasets. The trainer will focus on helping the data and development teams apply open data standards, structure content logically, and design clear visual formats that communicate information effectively to both institutional and public audiences. This role will ensure that the catalogue’s data architecture supports both technical quality and user understanding, resulting in a reliable, transparent, and replicable open-source solution.Task Description
Under the supervision of the Tech4R coordination team, the Trainer will: Design and deliver a targeted training session on data structuring, formatting, and visualization principles for public information platforms. Provide practical guidance on data cleaning, organization, and validation using accessible tools (e.g., Excel, Google Sheets, or OpenRefine). Introduce open data standards and metadata management practices for cataloguing institutional assets. Demonstrate methods for creating clear, visual representations of asset categories, statuses, and trends (charts, tables, icons). Advise volunteers on linking structured data to the web interface and ensuring accurate display in the online catalogue. Support teams during early sprints with feedback on data accuracy, completeness, and usability. Contribute to the documentation of data formatting standards for future updates and replication.Competencies and values
