Duties and Responsibilities
ORGANISATION SETTING This position is located in the International Residual Mechanism for Criminal Tribunals (IRMCT), in the General Services Section Registry REPORTING LINE Under the direct supervision of the Supervisor of the Facilities Management Unit, the individual contractor will perform the following duties; DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Operate/maintain distributed building equipment/systems. 2. Perform daily inspections of major building equipment and regularly surveys/inspects all workspaces, including: Electrical power distribution system, Centralized and split HVAC systems, Water/Fire pumps, control systems, Generators and ATS backup system, UPS system, Firefighting equipment/system, Plumbing system, Elevators, and Solar power system. 3. Prepare and complete preventive maintenance schedules and reports. 4. Prepare requisitions for maintenance supplies. 5. Assist in identifying potential vendors. 6. Perform regular repair, reconditioning, and preventive maintenance work. 7. Perform regular plumbing and electrical repairs and basic office equipment repairs (i.e., shredders, etc.). 8. Perform welding, forming, and fabrication of metals. 9. Undertakes minor construction and repairs. Installs partitions, changes locks, and replaces glass. 10. Evaluate the extent of repairs required and assist in the preparation of plans and specifications for work requirements. 11. Provide direction to outside contractors and ensure that construction and repair projects are completed in accordance with requirements. 12. Prepare the status of work completed. 13. Perform any other ad-hoc duties assigned.
Qualifications/special skills
Successful completion of a high school diploma in a technical field is required. A minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience in the field of facilities management is required. Demonstrated ability to use a computer is required.
Languages
English and French are the working languages of the Mechanism. For the post advertised, fluency in oral and written English is required. Working knowledge of Swahili/Kiswahili is desirable.

The appointment is limited to the International Residual Mechanism for Criminal Tribunals. Appointment of the successful candidate to this position will be limited to the initial funding of the post. Extension of the appointment is subject to the extension of the mandate and/or the availability of funds.
