POSITION SUMMARY
The Senior Project Assistant(Technical) will provide technical, analytical, and coordination support to GGGI India program on industrial decarbonization and demand side management (DSM) initiatives. The role involves data crunching, technical analysis, coordination with stakeholders & GGGI’s consortium partners, and supporting stakeholder consultations across industrial sub-sectors and internal & external reporting activities. The position requires good understanding on industrial decarbonization, data analysis skills, report writing and the ability to coordinate with multiple partners including industry associations, Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE) , resource partner and consortium partners.
PURPOSE
- Co-ordinate with consortium partner(s) for timely completion of deep-dive technical assessments of prioritized electrification technologies including High Temperature Heat Pumps (HTHP), Mechanical Vapor Recompression (MVR), Electric Furnaces, captive-to-grid transitions, and renewable energy–based transitions.
- Support the Project Manager (PM) in planning, monitoring and reporting of project activities which includes management of partners, budget utilization, quality control and risks.
- Support the project team in overall implementation, outreach and capacity building & knowledge sharing. .
- Ensure timely completion of project deliverables, reporting, vendor payments and updating all relevant information/reports in GGGI’s system.
- Support the PM and India Country Representative (CR) for any other requirements pertaining to the project or allied project(s) as deemed appropriate for this position.
ENGAGEMENT
- Coordinate with GGGI internal team, consortium partners, industry partners, technology suppliers, and sectoral associations to support data crunching, consultations, and validation activities.
- Facilitate communication with BEE and industrial units for focused discussions, studies, field visits, surveys, and information requests.
- Support organization of knowledge-sharing sessions, workshops, peer review consultations, and dissemination events with BEE and industrial stakeholders.
- Engage with state agencies to support mapping of state-level Renewable Energy Policies (REP) and alignment with national RCO requirements.
- Prepare draft reports for the PM for submission to the donor in accordance with the agreed schedule.
DELIVERY
- Contribute to GGGI’s Project Management System (PMS) cycles and other system requirements for effective information flow internally and externally.
- Assess the internal procedures (planning, execution, reporting etc.) of the project management and suggest areas of improvement
- Suggest ways & means to propagate project outputs for wider dissemination and visibility.
- Assist in managing project timelines, milestones, and deliverables, including tracking progress of Sub- partners and ensuring adherence to agreed schedules.
- Support preparation and review of high-quality technical reports, knowledge products, and deliverables (e.g., technology assessments, MAC curves, case studies, policy briefs) in line with GGGI and donor expectations.
- Ensure proper documentation, data management, and version control of all project outputs, including maintaining records for documents for reporting purposes.
- Support financial tracking and coordination for vendor/consultant deliverables, including validation of outputs linked to payments.
- Facilitate dissemination of project outputs through reports, presentations, workshops, and digital platforms to enhance visibility and stakeholder uptake
- Monitor project risks, identify bottlenecks in implementation, and propose corrective actions to ensure smooth delivery of project outcomes.
REQUIREMENTS
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Energy, or related fields). Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum 2 years of post-qualification relevant experience from industries, research and academia.
- Experience in working with technical data analysis, , industrial energy audits, feasibility studies, or techno-economic analysis preferred.
- Good understanding of India’s energy landscape including energy efficiency, renewable energy and clean energy solutions.
- Experience in writing, drafting and initial reviewing of technical / project reports.
- Good understanding of national energy policies, CCTS, RCO, and related regulatory frameworks preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Hindi
FUNCTIONAL
- Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret technical and energy data.
- Competence in drafting technical reports, case studies, and knowledge products.
- Proficiency with MS Excel, analytical tools, and data visualization.
- Ability to work with diverse sectoral stakeholders and industry representatives.
- Fluency to speak in English and Hindi

WORKING CONDITIONS
The Senior Project Assistant position is a G5 grade level in GGGI’s National salary scale. The salary range for this position will be finalized following the selection of the duty station, and with consideration of qualifications, experience, and internal equity. GGGI provides a 15% base salary towards retirement plan/long-term savings, 27 days of annual leave, and private health insurance that covers dental and vision.
