Background
UNDP Jordan's 2023-2027 country programme seeks to support national efforts in enhancing people’s resilience in Jordan through robust interventions that increase people's equal access to sustainable resources, enhance green growth opportunities, and advance democratic governance, implementing a portfolio approach cutting across three outcomes focused on systematic transformation in three priority areas: (a) prosperous and productive people; (b) green and safe future pathways for climate action; and (c) holistic and transformative systems/policies and capacities across all sectors.
In 2019, UNDP with funding from the Ministry of Environment/Badia Restoration Program and in collaboration with the Jordan Cooperative Corporation commenced the The “Improving livelihoods of Sheep owners in the Jordan Badia through Enhancing Sheep Wool Saleability and Profitability” project aiming at promoting Sustainable Livelihoods in Jordan Badia through enhancing production and quality of sheep wool. The strategy to achieve the goal has four interlinked components; Establishment of Shearing Service; Establishment of Collection Centers (Hubs) Facilities; Enhancing domestic Use of the Sheared Wool and Provision of necessary Training and Awareness.
A major component of this project is the establishment of the wool collection hub in Al Qutrana, which will centralize the processing and distribution of the sheared sheep wool collected from all three Badia regions (Northern, Middle and Southern). The role of driver is crucial for ensuring efficient and effective transportation and logistics management of wool from collection points in the Badia regions to the hub.
Duties and Responsibilities
The Driver will assume the responsibility of logistical aspects of the wool collection, ensuring efficient and effective transportation of sheared wool from multiple locations in the Badia regions to the central hub in Al Qutrana. This role is critical for maintaining the integrity and timely processing of the wool, which is essential for the success of the project. The driver shall ensure the highest standards of discretion and integrity, sense of responsibility, excellent knowledge of protocol and security issues, navigating rural and potentially challenging terrains to reach remote areas.

Institutional Arrangement
The driver will perform his/her tasks under the supervision of the Projects Coordination Specialist at the Green Pathways and Inclusive Growth Portfolio at UNDP Jordan Country Office, He/she will be based at the Wool Collection Hub at Al Qutrana and will be working closely with concerned teams of UNDP JO and partners.

Required Skills and Experience
| Min. Education requirements | A completion of a secondary education is required with working experience as a driver in the Badia Region, safe driving record, knowledge of driving rules and regulations and skills in minor vehicle repair.
