Mission and objectives
UNICRI is a United Nations entity established in 1968 and mandate to assist intergovernmental, governmental and non-governmental organizations in formulating and implementing improved policies in the field of crime prevention and criminal justice. The Institute strongly emphasizes action-oriented analysis and integrated technical assistance. The current priorities are justice reform, financial and emerging crimes and security governance. UNICRI, as part of the European Union’s (EU) CBRN Risk Mitigation Centres of Excellence (CoE) Initiative, has leveraged the expertise outlined in the Prosecutors Guide on Chemical and Biological (CB) Crimes and the Prosecutors Guide on Radiological and Nuclear (RN) Crimes to craft a comprehensive capacity-building and training package. This initiative is designed to enhance investigative, prosecutorial, and adjudicative capabilities within the realm of CBRN crimes.Context
Task Description
The selected person shall be responsible for the translation of the Prosecutor’s Guide to Chemical and Biological Crimes from English into the Macedonian language. The services shall include: a) Translation • Editing and proofreading • Internal quality assurance, including review by a second linguist • Formatting and layout adaptation • Preparation of final deliverables in required formats b) Deliverable format The final translated document shall be delivered as follows: • in A4 format (Word and PDF) • in A5 format (print-ready PDF) c) Layout and formatting The translated document shall replicate the original document as closely as possible, including: • Structure and sectioning • Heading and numbering • Tables, figures, and captions, • Formatting elements (fonts, styles, spacing), ensuring full compatibility with Microsoft Word. d) Quality standards All translations must: • be accurate and complete • ensure correct use of legal and technical terminology • maintain consistency throughout the document • reflect the tone and style of the source text.Competencies and values
