Job Description

The Organisation

Plan International is an independent development and humanitarian organisation that advances children’s rights and equality for girls. We believe in the power and potential of every child but know this is often suppressed by poverty, violence, exclusion and discrimination. And it is girls who are most affected.

Working together with children, young people, supporters and partners, we strive for a just world, tackling the root causes of the challenges girls and vulnerable children face. We support children’s rights from birth until they reach adulthood and we enable children to prepare for and respond to crises and adversity. We drive changes in practice and policy at local, national and global levels using our reach, experience and knowledge.

For over 85 years, we have rallied other determined optimists to transform the lives of all children in more than 80 countries.

We won’t stop until we are all equal.

We are looking for a proactive Learning & Capability Coordinator to support the smooth delivery of our global learning services and the continuous improvement of our learning platforms, including our learning management system (LMS), Plan Academy.

This is a great role for someone who enjoys variety, is confident working with digital tools, and thrives on supporting teams across multiple countries.

About the Role

As the Learning & Capability Coordinator, you will play a central role in delivering our global learning priorities—particularly induction programmes and digital learning services. You’ll provide high quality administrative, logistical, and technical support to ensure staff across the organisation can easily access and engage with learning.

Key elements of the role include:

Learning, Induction & Administrative Support

  • Coordinate learning activities, including scheduling sessions, managing communications, preparing materials and supporting logistics.

  • Support the delivery of global induction programmes—including setting up sessions, updating content, monitoring participation, and cofacilitating when needed.

  • Be a friendly, responsive point of contact for internal stakeholders and external suppliers.

  • Produce and circulate agendas, presentations, reports, and workshop materials.

  • Support promotion and awareness of learning resources, tools, and opportunities.

  • Maintain team filing systems and ensure documentation is well organised and GDPR compliant.

  • Provide ad hoc support with procurement activities, invoicing, and supplier administration.

LMS & Digital Learning Systems

  • Manage day to day operations of our LMS (Plan Academy), including course uploads, enrolments, and data accuracy.

  • Own the Plan Academy inbox, investigating and resolving user queries—including more complex technical issues.

  • Troubleshoot system problems with internal teams and external vendors.

  • Support testing of LMS updates, enhancements, and new features.

  • Identify system/process inefficiencies and propose solutions.

  • Maintain learning platform content, including One Planet pages and other digital learning sites.

  • Support users in navigating platforms confidently, ensuring a smooth and accessible learning experience for all employees.

Project & Team Support

  • Contribute to wider Learning & Capability team projects.

  • Work collaboratively with colleagues across Global Hub, Regional Hubs, Country Offices, and National Organisations.

  • Support the embedding of safeguarding and child protection commitments in all learning processes.

About you

  • Strong coordination or administrative experience.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to analyse and resolve issues.

  • Confident communicator, able to adapt style for different audiences.

  • Strong written English. Capable of producing clear, engaging content.

  • Comfortable working with digital platforms, systems and data.

  • Proficient in Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint.

  • Experience with SharePoint and Office 365 tools.

  • Previous experience using an LMS or HRIS (or strong willingness to learn).

  • Highly organised with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage competing deadlines.

  • Experience providing user support or technical guidance.

  • Awareness of learning approaches (e.g., 70/20/10).

Please respond to the requirements of the role in your cover letter.

Only CVs and cover letters in English will be accepted.

Benefits include:

  • 25 days annual leave, additional office closure over Christmas

Equality, diversity and inclusion is at the very heart of everything that Plan International stands for.

A range of pre-employment checks will be undertaken in conformity with Plan International's Safeguarding Children and Young People policy. Plan International also participates in the Inter Agency Misconduct Disclosure Scheme. In line with this scheme we will request information from applicants previous employers about any findings of sexual exploitation, sexual abuse and/or sexual harassment during employment, or incidents under investigation when the applicant left employment.
