GGGI has a diverse portfolio of programs in developing countries around the world. These in-country programs, together with global products and services, focus on delivering results through an integrated approach of evidence-based green growth planning and implementation aligned to countries’ development priorities. The organization also focuses on knowledge development and management activities which build a strong theoretical and empirical basis for green growth, while providing concrete options and guidance for policymakers; as well as building the conditions for public and private green infrastructure investments.
Within the Office of the Executive Director, GGGI has established the global initiatives unit to incubate emerging global-scale initiatives that align with GGGI’s green growth mandate. As part of this unit, GGGI has established a dedicated Data and AI team to lead the organization’s transition into a data-driven, digitally enabled institution. The Data and AI team will be responsible for shaping GGGI’s AI and data strategies, leading internal transformation initiatives, coordinating external partnerships, and positioning GGGI as a leader in “Environmentally Sustainable AI” applications.
As part of the data and AI team, the Green AI Senior Assistant supports the implementation of data-driven and AI-enabled approaches across GGGI projects and programs.
Under the guidance of the Data/AI lead, the role provides technical expertise in developing analytical methodologies, digital monitoring systems, and data architectures that support climate project development, environmental monitoring, and evidence-based decision making.
Beyond the data/AI team, the position works closely with project teams, country offices, and external partners to ensure that data and AI solutions are effectively integrated into GGGI projects and knowledge platforms.
The Green AI Senior Assistant supports the application of data systems and emerging technologies, contributing to GGGI’s use of digital tools to improve project delivery and monitoring. The candidate helps maintain the quality and consistency of analytical outputs and digital systems used across GGGI projects and programs. The Green AI Senior Assistant supports GGGI technical teams, country offices, and project leads by contributing data and AI inputs to program development and implementation.
The role interacts with external stakeholders including technology providers, research institutions, and development partners to support the evaluation and adoption of digital tools relevant to sustainable development.
The position shares technical findings and analytical results with internal teams, including program teams, partner governments, and external collaborators, under the guidance of the Data/AI Lead.

Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Energy Systems, Environmental Engineering, Economics, Statistics, Data Science/AI, or a related field. Advance degree (Master’s or equivalent, in related fields is highly advantageous.

The Green AI Senior Assistant is a G5 grade level in GGGI’s Republic of Korea national salary scale. GGGI provides 15% of base salary towards retirement plan/long-term savings, 27 days of annual leave, and private health insurance that covers dental and vision.
