SOLIDARITES INTERNATIONAL (SI) is an international humanitarian aid association which, since more than 40 years, has been providing assistance to populations affected by armed conflicts and natural disasters by meeting their basic needs for food, water and shelter. Particularly committed to the fight against diseases linked to unsafe water, the leading cause of death in the world, SI's interventions provide expertise in the field of access to drinking water, sanitation and hygiene promotion, but also in the essential area of food security and livelihoods. Present in 26 countries, the SI teams – 3200 people in total, made up of expatriates, national staff, permanent staff at HQ, and a few volunteers - intervene with professionalism and commitment while respecting cultural norms.
SI has been present in Nigeria for 10 years - since 2016 in Northeast Nigeria and 2020 in the Northwest.
SI’s coordination office is based in Abuja, a regional base in Maudugiri (incluing sub bases in Monguno and Ngala) is supporting operation in Borno state and a second regional base for the NW programs in Gusau town (Zamfara State), with a sub office in Anka. SI is also opening new project and offices in Kebbi state in 2026.
In the Northeast, SI operates in 3 LGAs of Borno state (Monguno, Ngala and Konduga). SI has also intervened in other LGAs includingJere, Maiduguri MMC, Dikwa, Gwoza and Bama in the recent past, as well as in Adamawa under emergency response. In the Northwest, SI intervenes in 5 LGAs of Zamfara state: Gusau, Anka, Talata Mafara, Zurmi and Kaura Namoda, with possible extension in 2026 to emergency operation in Sokoto and Katsina state.
The annual volume of the Nigeria mission is between 4 to 6 M USD.
SI's mission in Nigeria responds to the critical needs of populations affected by conflict, natural disasters and epidemics in the North East and North West of the country, through its traditional sectors of intervention, namely WASH, FSL and Shelter. SI is currently funded by a number of institutional donors, including ECHO, CDCS, INTPA and NHF, with the possibility of further funding depending on the development of the mission's projects.
The mission also relies on a partnership approach, localization and good coordination to strengthen its intervention in the country. It works closely local partners and participates actively in existing coordination platforms.

General objective:
The finance coordinator will direct and coordinate all accounting and financial services associated withthe mission.
As coordinator, he/she is responsible for guaranteeing the financial balance of the mission and for ensuring that all
Solidarités International procedures, donor procedures and all laws of the country in which Solidarités International is
intervening are respected.
He/she is the point of reference for the mission, and the link between headquarters and the mission for all matters
relating to management, accounting and budget monitoring.
The main challenges:
Financial Coordination of a mission with several sub-bases including limited access / Financial sustainability of the mission in an ever changing donor dynamic
Priorities for the 2/3 first months:
Financial reporting of the terminated Grants, proposal development, internal financial analysis, contribution in defining the FSPs for CBI activities
Capacity building and strenghtning of the deputy finance coordinator in the scope of nationalization of hte poistion at the end of the contract.
Security constraints:
Position based in Abuja - no specific security contrainsts
IN regional bases (NE or NW), security challenges are higher and staff musyt abie to the security and safety protocols defined by Solidarites International
DIPLOMAS AND EXPERIENCE:

A salaried position:
According to experience, starting from EUR 4533 gross per month (2860 EUR base salary + 10% annual leave allowance paid monthly) and a monthly Per Diem of USD 750.
SI also covers accommodation costs and travel expenses between the expatriate's country of origin and the place of assignment.
Breaks: During the assignment, a system of alternation between work and time off is implemented at the rate of 7 working days every three months (with a USD 850 break allowance, allocated by Sl). To these breaks periods, SI grants one (1) additional rest day per month worked.
Insurance package: Expatriates benefit from an insurance package which refunds all healthcare expenses (including medical and surgical expenses, dental care and ophthalmological expenses, repatriation) and a welfare system including war risks. Essential vaccination and antimalarial treatment costs are refunded.
LIVING CONDITIONS:
GH in Abuja - very good condition of living, each expatriate has his/her own room and own bathroom. 24/7 electricity (despite some short shortage can heppen), internet and many social gathering are available in Abuja (supermarket, restaurant, café, sport center ... etc)
