General Services Unit is a diverse service unit and mandated to provide centrally managed general services at Dhaka, Matlab and other field sites in order to facilitate icddr,b’s research activities, hospital operation and other businesses to make them enable to attain their goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervisor, General Services reporting to Officer, General Services, will be primarily responsible for supervising and monitoring security, cleaning and other services as per approved policy, procedure and SOPs with the objective of smooth running of safety, security, cleaning and other generals services in icddr,b within the organizational values and guidelines.
The specific areas of responsibilities include:
- Plan & supervise cleaning, waste disposal and other general services;
- Prepare and implement duty rosters of outsourced security and cleaning staff;
- Contact vendors to render standard general services as needed;
- Attend customers' requirements and fix them in coordination with relevant units/program;
- Maintain logs, files, references, and prepare different reports related to the assigned unit; Provide daily progress report;
- Maintain standard procedure and practices in delivering general services; Ensure execution of general services policy;
- Implement, supervise and monitor security measures of icddr,b;
- Ensure and maintain safety of icddr,b staff and assets by implementing and practicing relevant policy, procedure and SOPs;
- Implement and supervise routine security and safety works; Carry out routine check of fire appliances; Assist in conducting fire and security drills;
- Assess and Monitor safety risks in icddr,b premises.
Required qualifications and experience:
- Bachelors or Equivalent; Candidate having advanced degree/certificate course/training on safety and security will be given preference.
- 3 Years of relevant experience.
Location: Mohakhali Campus, Dhaka
Contract Type and duration:
- Fixed Term; duration will be 2 Years with a possibility of extension subject to availability of funds and performance.
Salary & benefits:
- Annual 6,032,00/- inclusive of house rent, conveyance allowances and other admissible benefits.
- 14.8% provident fund contribution, income tax paid by icddr,b, children allowance @Tk.2,492/- per child per month, festival bonus, contributory healthcare support including dependent spouse and children, group life insurance, and subsidized canteen. Transport and daycare facilities are subject to space availability.
